and saw that Priority Mail is now the only option? I used to choose the UPS option and pay the $8.00 or so and the wait was fine for me. But I just can't get myself to pay $17.00 for Priority Mail.

Sigh. First world problems!

I made the same decision the other day. Shipping was almost $26 for my order, and I opted not to buy anything at all because I thought, "I'll just wait for JoAnn's to have a sale on this, and get free shipping on top of it."

That's weird. I placed an order this morning and got standard shipping for $1.40.

That is weird! Standard shipping wouldn't even show up for me. One option (Priority Mail) only.

If you had 12x12 paper or semi-"larger" items, that's probably why.

My last order was small things and it was only $1.40 for what I ordered (mostly buttons & some PL cards).

Same has happened to me and made me not buy. $21 priority as the only option and the code only knocked it down to $17. At least if I buy at SB.com I get ups to my door for $11! Seventeen and I still have to make a special trip to the po? Forget it!

I had a few wood individual pieces and a flair button. I took off the flair and the 4 wood 3x4 pieces were 7.00 to ship. My only option was priority shipping.

This happened to me today! Mine was $30! I added a few more newer items to get the discount and it was still $20. Too steep for me, it negates the whole sale!! I sent a peamail to Camille. I don't know what else to do.

That is what happened to me. I used to do all my shopping here. I qualified for the discount. They go and change the shipping to this insane price . I take that as a huge insult to the customer. I now go elsewhere. 2p has so much to offer and I have supported them generously , but do not insult me with these shipping rates. There are at least 4 other smaller stores that use much cheaper rates . They ship fast and there packing is awesome. I now shop elsewhere. I used to say as long as glitter girl was here so would I , well between the shipping and lack of product I no longer can say that

After I got the sale email, I loaded my car up and shipping was almost $28. I took out ALL my 12x12 stuff to see if shrinking it would lower the price--only to $23. I put my 12x12 stuff I wanted back in the cart and bought it--I consider it the last time I'll probably be buying from here. I can't afford to keep paying that much for shipping.

I ordered last night and got standard ship for $6. Something must be wrong.

That seems very odd! I have over 110$ in my cart right now and the shipping is just over 8$ and that is the total cost, not the reduced cost.

I just ordered about $32 worth of stuff and my shipping was over $11! When I had my cart at around $60, shipping was $16. While I don't like that I paid over 25% of my total for shipping! but there was enough items that I would have paid a little more for, so it made it worth it.

My shipping was $6 something for a $50 cart. My order was almost all 12x12 paper. I wonder if it has something to do with distance from the warehouse?

My shipping right now is over $27, USPS Priority. I'm sure it's rather heavy, I have a handful of albums in my cart. BUT if they'd ship it UPS ground, I know it would ship soooo much cheaper than $27. what gives? Why not offer both like before? Priority is great for the lighter packages, but kills the wallet with heavier boxes. I can't justify spending that kind of money on shipping, I know I can get free shipping elsewhere. ugh. would rather spend my $$$ here, but ...

I have just a handful of flair and a wood veneer in my cart and it's only offering me priority for $6 that the same price as the total of everything in my cart.

Well, I took everything 12x12 and 12x6 out and got it down to 9 something.
It's probably good I'm not getting paper as I have tons right now!!!

I ordered last month and with the code the shipping was only a few dollars, and I'm in California so I know it isn't the distance. I'm another one who doesn't understand how the shipping is determined. I've been on this site for years and I would like to support the store but if my order came up with a huge shipping charge I wouldn't put it through.

While we're on the topic, I'd like to be able to order some small embellishment but the shipping is too steep. If they'd just put it into a padded envelope like some other places do it would be worth it.

The last time u ordered, the same thing happened but I had enough to split my order into two so I can save two shipping discounts and it was fine. But this time when I ordered recently, I didn't have enough non phaseout stuff to split into two orders and I got charged the twenty some dollars for shipping. :/ yes, it sucks that sometimes we don't have a choice! I hate this cuz I spend so much here, I know I deserve the darn free shipping! Hahha

I used to load up my cart, qualify for the free shipping and order away! Now that they changed the shipping policy, it's just not worth it, when my shipping cost is 1/2 the price of my full order, I'll pass.

Really wanted to buy but could not. I spent hours putting things into my cart and then the shipping was $33. I took out some papers and it went down to $31, took out more and "down" to $28. Things were getting sold out. Half of the items were gone out of my cart and still $21 shipping. I wrote email to ask about this high shipping charge but never got a reply and I am sure there is not enough left to bother to order. I recall that this happened the last time a sale was announced - I find out about the insane shipping charge only AFTER I wasted hours shopping, getting all excited.

NON-update: I have received NO RESPONSE to my email that I wrote on Friday! Not happy.
Thankfully, I do have other stores that I was able to buy some of the same items for similar costs and with a very reasonable shipping charge.

I just checked my cart and all that is in it are 2 flairs and about 10 pieces of wood veneers.

The shipping is $5.82, priority. There is no standard shipping offered.

I know that sometimes, based on location, package size & shape, etc., when I try to mail something the standard shipping and the Priority mail are only a few cents difference or the Priority is actually less.

So I suppose that could be the situation here. I think it would depend on how they package their veneers. I haven't purchased any of the 2Ps exclusives yet, and everything in my cart right now is just 2 Peas Merchandise.

But it does strike me as really odd that they are offering the choice to some but not to others. Maybe there is a glitch.

This has happened to me multiple times, that parcel post will mysteriously not be available for a few days or weeks, and then it returns. Really not sure what it is, but when it's gone, I just don't order anything and some other shop gets my business for a much more reasonable shipping fee. :/

I finally got my non-answers 5/5 from Mr. White (waiting since 4/24). I had asked why a USPS flat rate shipping charge ($12.35) could not be charged instead of charging by weight. This is what he said:
"Some orders fit into flat rate boxes, but most do not. We have to price according to a non-flat rate box. In many cases the flat rate can also be worse than the per-pound weight since many orders are lightweight."

I give up. I have ordered SO much stuff from MANY companies over the years, with reasonable shipping charges. I have purchased from one-woman shops to businesses with a few employees to large companies. ALL of them are able to provide reasonable shipping options, big or small. I ordered from 5 different companies over the past week and all had reasonable shipping, and some of them had free shipping.

(I am still annoyed that I spent all that time selecting my items and most things are sold out by now.)
