This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for May 2014. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas. There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to the month of May. I know this will be a crazy month for many of you with graduations, final school performances and getting gardens going. Stop in when you can. We always love to know what's going on in your life and post anything you finish so we can enjoy it.

I'm looking forward to May flowers, especially after all the tornadoes, flooding and terrible weather we have had lately.

Happy May! Can you believe it is May already??? This year is really moving. Nylene thanks for the new thread. You really keep us moving around here.

Are heatwave continues and I will be glad when it is over. As most of you know a 90 plus degree day is like a snow blizzard to me. I plan on doing some drawing and coloring today. So we will see how that goes.

Pam- Yes, I am staying cool and wish I could send some of it to you. How is your garden going this Spring.

Nylene- You are going to have a fun trip to California. Plus I know you will get some good pictures too.

Cindy- How's it going?

Hope you all have a great day!

Hello and happy May Day to all my favorite Peas! Nylene thank you for the beautiful thread and I am waiting for the May flowers. I have to say I was taking photos yesterday of my flower beds and they are coming up beautifully! The cedum is really almost tall enough to cut back.

Pam I have not been to the park as it has been raining here on a regular basis! It is depressing! It has only been sporadic today. As of today the Metro Parks Spring hiking fling begins. We are planning on going for our first hike Saturday or Sunday. I bought new hiking boots today-very comfy and waterproof. I did go on the other 3 hikes a couple weeks a go. So we are off and hiking!

Kelly-no trips planned as of yet but we have been running around in the new vehicle! We did take it to Amish country Ohio which is about an hour from here each way and it was a very comfy ride! I am so glad to see you back and hope and praying that Ron gets the job.

Nylene -in digi scraping brushes are just like stamps in traditional scrapping. The filters do all kinds of magical things to photos-like the sketch one I used for this new layout. Some make them look like watercolors, some like charcoal some blur, some make them look like mosaic. That gives you an idea of some of the things.

Here's a link to my newest page:
You Are Loved

Thanks for looking. I will be back this evening.

Hugs, Cindy

Cindy, thank you for the explanations of some of your digi tricks. When I comment on yours, Pam's and Debi's layouts I don't even know how to describe what I love so much. Maybe this will help.

With Pinewood over, I was hoping to come here today to find some fun scrapping challenges for NSD. Instead, so far there are 3 that are just ads for 2peas. I'm really disappointed. I plan to scrap anyway. I have lots of cards to make for Angie before I go and maybe I'll start on the Disney photos.

Any of you have some fun NSD plans?

Hey there ladies! We are staying cool out here and hoping this heat wave ends soon. Fingers Crossed! Hope you all are doing well today. I do have some crafty things to share but I've been feeling a little sluggish to upload but I hope to do it this weekend. Just so glad to have our computer working. Still having some trouble getting my ipod working but hope to get it worked out soon.

Cindy- THanks for the cheers for my dh's job search. Wow, Amish Country sounds relaxing and fun.

Nylene- I almost forgot about NSD and I hope to check it out tomorrow. Maybe they have scaled back but I hope it will be fun still.

Happy Scrapping on NSD to all my favorite Peas. It is going to rain here today so I think I am going to spend my day in my scrap room. I have a digi page to do for my class and I have a mountain of photos to be scrapped. I was on the forum and things are not sounding good around here. I sure hope they get their act together.
I did my first hike last night of the Spree for All here by the metro parks. You are to do five by the end of June! I will be documenting each trail with photos. We did the one last night 1 mile in 20 minutes! We figured we needed to do one last night as it is supposed to rain all weekend. That trail last night is even accessible to those in wheelchairs. It would be a great daily walk-and is only about five minutes by car from my house. Easier on the joints then concrete! Well going to get my day started and hope that I will be back later to post!!! If I am not banned from the site that is for voicing my opinion about what started this mess.

Hugs, Cindy

Hello girls..Happy day to all, whether you get to scrap or not.

Cindy sounds like you are off to a good start with your hikes. Did you get some good shots? Your park sounds awesome!

I have no plans today...that is scary! I mowed the front yard yesterday and almost got frostbite, lol!

I have spotted 2 hummers this week,so I put one of my feeders out. They are so fun to watch.

Well,have a great Saturday!

Hey girls! I have been chattin' here for NSD. I was glad to see you, Nylene on the last one but not sure if you saw me. I just love getting those cute badges too. Fun event!

Now that I got my computer gotta get my ipod and now my camera working with the computer. I think the newer Windows 7 we got is maybe not working with my older gadgets. So I am sure we will figure it all out.

Plan on doing a little drawing tonight. I see you have been scrappin today. I hope to get some new pictures so I can do more scrappin too. I really do like it.

Waving hi to you all. Have a restful night!

I love seeing what you have done for NSD. Kelly, I saw you on that thread, but not til it was over. Glad you got to chat a bit.

I fell getting out of the shower this a.m. Steve was on the other end of the house and couldn't hear me. I was finally able to get myself up but, boy, do I feel wrenched! My hip that I fell on is the worst but I hurt from neck to ankle. I plan to take it easy so I don't go to Angie's hobbling. Not sure what happened, I was just suddenly down.

So if I'm just lying around a bit I can do some scrappy chatter, right?

Take care of yourselves. Our weather here is beautiful but a storm is coming later in the week.

Hello! I hope everyone had a Happy NSD! I was at a crop Friday and Saturday at the LSS. It was fun! I got one layout done and need to get a better picture of it.

I have had a wild last couple of weeks. I went out of town the beginning of April to a crop with a friend. I stopped and posed the 3D cards I made. I still haven't finished the LO I started that weekend. I am not sure how to finish it up.

After getting back from the crop, I got bronchitis. Then my doctor thought he heard a murmur in my pulmonic valve. I had to have an ECHO which is normal. But they couldn't visualize the pulmonic valve to see if it had a murmur or not.

Then a little over a week ago, I started having problems with my left eye being red, photosensitivity and pain. I felt like I had something in my eye all the time! I got into my eye doctor and I have a corneal ulcer from my contacts. I have worn contacts for 20 years and never had a problem like this. I have to go to the eye doctor every other day and on Friday she decided I needed a corneal specialist. She told me on Monday she rarely sends anyone to a specialist but the ulcer wasn't healing as well as she had hoped. I go back after adding a second antibiotic eye drop on Tuesday. I feel like it has improved. I hope so!! I have to wear my glasses which I have never worn in public since getting contacts 20 years ago. I have people stop me that know me, "You have glasses". I had someone in school always made rude comments to me about my glasses. I was ready to get rid of them when I was able.

The coffee shop is about to close for the evening. I had better get going! I hope to check back soon!

Hello everyone... I just about had my whole reply typed, when all of a sudden,I was disconnected. Boy,is that irritating!

Nylene and Knutschen please take care of yourselves. I am sending bumper pads to Nylene and designer glasses to Knutschen, lol. Hope you both are ok and mending.

Cold, windy and unpleasant here today... I am holed up inside looking out and wishing for nicer weather.

Not much new for me,my dsil began to install my new pendant lights in the corner of the great room this week-end. He is almost finished, just need to do the inside work. They are canning jars and I will use Edison bulbs in them. I hope they are really bright since I have trouble seeing at night.

Well,I am waving hi to all our pokeys and hoping everyone is ok!!

Hey all! Yes, the heatwave is over! (at least for a while) It was nice going outside and feeling the colder air. Nice! I did a little painting today. Not sure what it is going to be but it was fun gettin' my fingers in the paint!

Jana & Nylene- Hope you girls feel better. Take it easy and let your families spoil you too.

Cindy & Pam- How is the weather in Ohio today? Hope it was warmed up.

Just stopping in to day hello. Have a super evening!

Debi, I was afraid you were sick again when we didn't hear from you over NSD. Please take care of yourself. Then I read on another thread that one of your boys had an accident and is dealing??? with the new healthcare system. My heart goes out to you. Hugs to all of you.

Jana, I am so sorry about your eye! That is so strange that it would happen 20 years after having no problems. I hope it continues to heal and that you can get used to the glasses again until it does.

Jen, I saw you popping in during NSD. Did you get some pages done?

Cindy, it was fun seeing those pages you did. Your new techniques are just amazing. I just did the 2, but couldn't get myself into 2peas. I've always considered this my scrappy home, but I guess I said too much about my bookmarks missing. It was NOT appreciated by TPTB. So from now on I'd better post flowers and sunshine unless I want to be banned! You know what a rebel I tend to be!

Pam, you know the pendant light post is useless without PICTURES! You can post it in the middle of one of your posts here if you don't want it in the gallery. Just host it at another site. (Cindy's the pro at this!)
Thanks for the offer of bumper pads. I'm thinking bubble wrap. I'm pretty black and blue, but moving very well. Stiff and sore, but could have been so much worse. How's your Ruby doing?

Kelly, I hope you did some painting over the weekend. I'll go check out your blog. So glad you have your computer back, and still saying prayers for a perfect job for Ron.

Love you guys. What would I do without you all????

NYLENE please be careful. You already know what damage can happen with a fall...falling in the shower/bathroom is very common. So glad you didn't get seriously injured. Take it easy so you'll be in top shape to visit ANGIE.

JANA your medical woes are starting to sound like mine. Hope you are on the road to recovery soon. Eye stuff is always scary, yep more scary than being seen in glasses. Besides glasses are NOW COOL. Who knew?

PAM you'll have to send a photo or do a layout about those new light fixtures; sound intriguing.

I'm pretty boring right now, not much happening as I deal with trying to feel better. Keep the pages coming though; it's always nice to see other people being artistic.

A big Hello to all the peas! It was a beautiful day here today!!! I did a few things outside but it is still a little early to plant the annuals . Attended a program that Maggie was in this evening. She was chosen to sing with a city choir made up of 3rd, 4the and 5th graders. It was very nice.

Kelly- so nice to see you back on a regular basis!

Debi & Jana-I sure hope you feel better soon!

Nylene-how are you feeling after your fall? It upsets me that you received that email from the higher ups. I thought it was kind of you to let folks know so they would not lose creations that took a lot of time and energy. You did nothing wrong-I think if they had had that happen to them they would have appreciated it if someone a had warned them before they lost their work. I think things are a little toooo paranoid around here. I have never heard you say a negative thing about anyone and I am sure if they think about it they would have to agree. Me thinks they protest too much!

Okay I better get off of here Pam I hope all is well with you!

Morning all, smiles and hugs to all!

Today,I will take a different approach to tackle some jobs. Yesterday got out of hand and I was exhausted. As Dad used to say,"you can't do it all in one day". I hope to mark some things off my list, though.

Hope all is well with each of you. It scares me that participation is down here on our thread. I guess I read too much on the forums that predict doom and gloom. I hope we can keep pokeys going and enjoy the friendships.

I need to get started and stop blowing off.... Take care Soon Come Pam

Checking in with my pokey gals.

Busier than ever around here. Picked up a part time job on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I did get to participate a little in the NSD fun. Had 3 friends that I scrapped some with that afternoon. It's the only scrappin I've done in weeks. But I did get some LO's done for a few of the challenges.
I'm hoping to get back to doing some of the Stashbuster challenges on the thread. I started the year strong with some scrappin but man, has it dwindled.

Hoping to get in my crafty place this afternoon after work to make Mother's Day cards for the weekend.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all my Pokey Gals.

Happy Wednesday girls! It is very pleasant here today. I haven't got crafty yet but hope to jump into something today.

Pam- You have been a busy bee. Are you working in your garden? Our gardener around here in our apartment planted some new flowers and they are going to look pretty when the grow in and fill in the space.

Cindy- Good to see you gardening too. Your little dgd is so talented like you. I know you really enjoyed her show.

Missy- It is so nice to see you! Glad you got to do some scrappin for NSD. Always a fun day.

Nylene/Debi- Hope you both are getting better.

Nylene- I did start painting and hope to get back to it. My mojo has slowed down but hope to get some fun things going this week.

Well, take care girls and have a nice evening!

Now, if I have followed our "resident computer teacher's" instructions(Cindy) to the letter, I should be able to post this.

It only took 3 tries, Cindy! I'm getting better. For all of you mothers I wish you a wonderful and happy day on Sunday. For those who aren't mothers I wish you the opportunity to spend some time with your own mother on this Mother's Day.
We have been invited to Em's for dinner and then 2 days later I leave for Angie's. It will be good to get away for a while. It's cold and a bit rainy/snowy here right now.

Seems we're a pretty Pokey bunch this month so far. Hope to see a few more jump on.

Here are two pages I did about DGS's return from his mission.

Good Friday evening ladies

I am tuning in rather late on a Friday evening. I was quite busy today.. multi tasking and again it got out of hand. I need to learn to pace myself,so that I can function in the evening a little later. Oh well, I did manage several chores today and that feels good.

Last night was RT and she was in rare form. She learns so much in between visits and it is amazing. She is so daring and un-afraid. I gasp when she takes a big chance. I got a few photos of her and my dd blowing bubbles and holding her bear. What fun!!

Looks like the rain mostly missed me,just a few sprinkles but it did cool down this afternoon.I got the yard mowed and the weed whacking done.

Well hope your week end is beautiful and you get to do some fun things!!

Soon Come Pam

Wow, Pam, you are really putting me to shame. I hardly accomplished anything today. We went shopping for some craft materials for my grands to make wreaths for 4H this year. By the time we hit 2 Michaels and 2 Hobby Lobbys I was ready to come home and rest. Did go through some older photos and came across a photo of my Dad's old 50's GE radio. I just had to stop and write the story of it and make a page.

You don't need to read they whole long page, it's just about the relationship between that old radio and one of dad's favorite songs, My Grandfather's Clock..the one that "stopped short never to go again when the old man died."
Sometimes you just have to get those things written for posterity.

The Radio

a quick check in to let you know I'm still lurking even if not actively scrapping. Trying to get some energy built up but it's a slow process.

MISSY wow girl I think you did more LOs in the week of NSD than I've done all year this year. Way to go girl.

NYLENE you get way more done than you realize with all your CUB activities. Don't wear yourself out before your trip to see ANGIE.

HAVE A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY everyone!

I was trying to scrap today and the computer is my scrap room gave me such fits I gave it up out of frustration. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Back again! Here's a link to my layout for my third week of Inspired Images. We used several filters layered on top of each other to enhance the textures hidden in our photos!

Mini Album

Here is a mini I made back in March for my dh's birthday. I finally got my computer going and glad to share it with you all. It is funny what you can make when the budget gets tight. I love how it turned out.

Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day! I hope you all enjoyed you day.

My mother's day was very relaxing. My friend, John, came out to my mom's and fixed 4 plumbing problems (2 running toilets, a dripping shower faucet and replaced the kitchen faucet with the new one I bought her awhile back) for free. mom was over the moon. Then I spent the day with Mom; we went grocery shopping at a couple different stores, played at a Casino we rarely go to (didn't win but played for quite a while) and had dinner together. Came home and my kids had cleaned their room, and the bathroom (without being asked) and the stairway...I think they dusted and vacuumed also. Good kids. Plus they made me the cutest hand-made cards. A very nice day. Always nice to feel appreciated.

Still battling health issues but at least I can say I have considerate kids.

Hope all is well

Good morning!
We had tornadoes go thru here last night so things are in an uproar. The soil and mulch from my flower beds is in my driveway. Fortunately none touched down but were overhead. The baby birds in my birdhouse must have been seasick. Our city hall flooded and destroyed the tech center. They have no phones etc. what a mess. Fortunately I don't think any one was injured. My kids had power outages but we did not. We are being warned that we may have the same thing tonight. We were in our basement for over an hour and tv shows were delayed for 3 hours.

Anyway here is my first layout for this week in my class.

Priceless Moments

I Have Bobby again today-there is some kind of virus around giving headaches and low grade fevers & this is his second day with grammma! BBL!

Happy Tuesday! Well, the heat wave is back! So planning to get some things done and maybe a little painting.

Thanks for all the comments on my mini album for Ron. Another idea I am playing around with is a paper bag album. I hope to continue playing with it. I still fun the scrappin' bug too. I just need some new pics so I can go to town.

Cindy- Hey, you got Johnny Football!!!! Congrats and I know your team will have lots of new folks watching like me. Boy, I know he was so happy to get drafted after all that waiting on draft night. I think we were all anxious for him to get picked. Also, wow tornado??? Oh, I hope you and your family stays safe.

Waving hi to you all and hope you have a good day!

Good morning all! It is raining here again this morning. We had storms again last night and tornado warnings south of here but nothing touched down to my knowledge. We do not get the monster tornadoes like they do out west. Not that they don't do damage they just are not as huge. I was hoping to scrap last evening but that computer gave me fits again and customer support for our internet service said he would call me back and never heard from him again! I actually started fishing and may have fixed it myself. we shall see how it goes today. Bobby is going back to school today I think. I have not heard from anyone yet this morning.
Waving a big hello to everyone and hope all of you are safe and well. I will check by later!

Today's Nylene's birthday and even though I know she's probably not near a computer right now and playing with that new grandbaby instead, I thought I'd wish her a happy birthday on this thread too!
