I just came across a binder of them that I long forgot about.

I was thinking I could maybe use some of them as stencils? Has anyone done this? Any other ideas for their use?

I found some Deluxe Cuts color blocking templates too. Geez a blast from the past for sure! I'm such a hoarder!

Had to have the Color block templates. All of them! Does that make me a hoarder too?

LOL. Somewhere I have a whole binder FULL of those things! I haven't used any of them in years so I guess that makes me a hoarder too. The only ones I don't have are the ones that had that big binder with design templates for 12x12 pages, Pages By Design or something? I still wish I would have bought a set of those when I had a chance to get them cheap, I probably would use those now if I had them.

I haven't seen my Border Buddies and/or Journaling Genies in quite a while, but I use the Deluxe Designs Color Blocking templates rather a lot!

I remember them. I'm a hoarder. I still have a bunch of Journal Genies. I probably have border buddies, too, or something similar. I didn't go for the color blocking templates, though.

I think some folks here would be appalled at what I've kept, but sometimes when my grandkids come to visit, they like to scrapbook with me. All the scrapping stuff that I no longer use is happily used by my grandkids.

Wow, I almost forgot about those! I wouldn't be surprised if I had one around somewhere still lol! I haven't been through all my boxes out of storage yet.

But I'd give it a try as a stencil, why not. Could turn into a favorite technique. I've used other things for stencils myself and it's always been fun.

Yup; still have a few Journaling Genies. Might break them out and give 'em a go round.

I found a journaling genie last week and almost purged it -- then I thought I'd maybe use them as stitching, back into the keep pile they went.

I know the name Border Buddies but I can't get a picture in my head of them. Journaling Genies and the colorblock templates I still have. Came across the Deluxe Cuts just the other day, the genies must still be in the garage somewhere from the move.

I loved those journal genies but never made a layout that looked good with them. It always looked contrived or something.

However I saw a layout this morning that had a large circle and it made me want to get out my coluzzle! I saved that because it is easier to cut certain shapes with that than to set up the sillouette to do what I can do in 20 seconds with a coluzzle, lol!

I still have my Journaling Genies, Border Buddies, Coluzzles, Pages By Design, and colorblocking templates.

Confession: I have never purged anything except paper that I didn't like and stickers (never used them after I got my Cricut).

I'm in the process of unpacking the rest of my scraproom boxes from our last move (almost 2 years ago LOL), and I can't wait to see what else I find.

I was a stenciler before I was a scrapper so I still have all my stencil type tools. I have my journal genies and border templates along with old school shape stencils. We used those for cutting out shapes way before punches, home die cuts or electronic cutters. Still use them, love to fussy cut! I use the journaling templates too, because I can't write straight without guidelines.

I have a few Journaling Genies but no idea where they are. I use my Deluxe Color Blocking when the mood strikes.

What are they? Does anyone have a photo?

You can google it and find a lot of images. Essentially they came out shortly after the EK Success markers and were used with the markers to create an "elaborate" traced/drawn border or decorative drawn elements on a page.
As I recall, after peddling the products to local stores, EK then bundled markers and Border Buddy templates for WalMart -- which was the first "knife in the back of the LSS" that I heard about.

Found my Journal Genies & Border Buddies about a month ago. I was going to get rid of them, but like Just Fawn mentioned thought they'd be good for stitching guides. So far, I haven't used them.

Only had one Journaling Genie and not only do I still have it, but I still use it! It's the one w/the straight lines, so I'm constantly pulling it out when I'm journaling.

Still have the Deluxe Cuts templates (in fact, they're one of the companies I said I miss on that other thread!) and still use them from time to time.
