I just received an order I placed for some mini hama beads to make my own mini enamel dots. Just wondering what others may have experienced with trying them. I'm not sure what temp or length of melting time I'm going to need to use. I hope to get to experiment with them tomorrow.

There was a thread about this before, and it seemed like what worked best varied from person to person.

Here's the thread. Maybe it will help you.

Thanks for the link. I had read most of that thread before. I think they're all using the standard size peelers. I'm attempting the mini, which are much tinier. They are 2-3mm and come in bags of 2,000 per color instead of 1,000 and the bags are still 1/3 or 1/4 the size of the standard ones, that's how much smaller they are.

I saw a video on YouTube by Nicole Jones. She used them and they turned out cute. She's nicolejones911 on YouTube.

I have not seen the mini ones, but I've cut the big ones in half. Here has been my experience with the dots: DIY Dots

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize they were that much smaller.

Like Aeryn, and others on that thread, I had cut mine in half, and I thought that was about the same size you'd be using.

I had my half size regulars in with my full size ones, so they worked well at the same time & temp, but I don't know how ones half *that* size would do.

Sorry for the confusion.

Frankly, I would just experiment. Since I'm using a toaster oven, outside, at 7,000ft altitude, I figured that other's experience would be vastly different to mine. I picked a temperature that felt good, set a timer, and checked every ten minutes to see if they were done to my liking. I'd assume you'd be able to do the same with the mini ones. Just keep an eye on them and make note of what you do the first time so you can either repeat or alter it.
