Welcome to the 2014 STASHBUSTERS CHALLENGE thread.
Everyone is welcome to play. Pick a prompt and jump right in!

Prompts are open for two weeks.

The more you play, the more chances you have to win a small scrapping goody from me (and some others who are donating prizes!!) and the more pages you will get done!

Please link up your creation in this thread for a chance to win and I will also have a challenge box you can check during the upload process.
Look for **Stash Busters Challenge**

You can submit more than one page/project for each challenge so feel free to make use of your inspiration.

**You can combine all these prompts. Each prompt you use is good for one chance to win...so use 3 prompts on one layout = 3 chances to win!***

We all like to get comments on our pages so if you are playing along please try to find the time to return the favor!

**********************************************************************
Deadline for these challenges are MONDAY May 19th @ 11:59 pm PST

**********************************************************************

Prompt #1

Use at least 3 butterflies on a page/project.

I still love putting them on my pages and cards!!

Page by Elizabeth Carney

Page by Michiyo

Page by Karla Dudley

card by Kathy Martin

Prompt #2

Scraplift a page by Garden Girl Mel Blackburn

Find something you love about her pages and copy the whole thing or just a tiny detail!

Mel's gallery is HERE

Prompt #3

Use something old, something new, something with a border and something blue.

For old-----Go through your supplies and pull out an older product that you need to use or use something vintage looking.

For new--use a newer purchase or follow a new trend (mist droplet/ use a doily/use a scripty font for a title/ sprinkling of confetti/sequins etc..)

For border---use a border punch or stickers or diecut or use a white border around your photo or use a frame/ slide mount looking thing /viewmaster/ film strip or polaroid frame on your page.

For blue---use blue cardstock, pattern paper, sticker letters or a blue embellishment somewhere on your project.

Prompt #4

Use the band design on a page

A good article that explains the band design: HERE

some examples:

layout by Annelie (from studio calico member gallery)

Page by mandalika

Page by Wilna

Page by Lisa Dickinson

Page by Lory

Prompt #5
Create a project inspired by Two Peas GG's.

Two Peas no longer has challenges associated with their videos but the Stashbusters still do!

Also any Two Peas class/workshop that you have taken counts here too. Go back and revisit some of the lessons as inspiration!

Here's a link to the most recent videos.

Awesome challenges! Looking forward to getting scrappy this week- I was on vacation last week but now I'm back and ready to scrap all those vacation photos.

Also, I got my awesome prize in the mail the other day and I just wanted to say THANK YOU! You rock!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much to Marianne, who, as always, has provided us some amazing inspiration. And did you see her good works were rewarded? Congratulations on winning a NSD challenge here at 2Peas Marianne! I also saw TPGirl won as well. Congratulations ladies. I had lots of fun on NSD and did 3 layouts which is a ton for me.

I am looking forward to these new prompts and seeing what everyone come sup with.

Another round of great prompts, Marianne! I haven't had a chance to play along with everyone this past month, as I've been working on another of my 2014 goals: Create layouts using my old 2009, 2010 APIT (A Page in Time) pre-designed page kits. As my completed layouts don't meet any of the challenges, I haven't been posting them online. But if I need a break soon, I'll jump back into the game. Meanwhile, I have been enjoying looking at everyone's layouts and sprinkling some love in the gallery. The layouts created through these challenges are awesome! Keep it up, ladies!!!

Congratulations, Marianne and tpgirl, on your NSD Challenge wins!!!

It's been a couple months since I've joined in on this thread. NOT b/c I didn't want to. I always looked at the challenges, wrote them down, but seemed I never could sit and get one completed in time. Such is my crazy busy life.
I did manage to do a couple quick LO's this morning before work.
They are for Prompts 3 & 4.

Here are a couple for Prompt #3. The old is the vintage typewriter on page one and the old smilie sticker on page 2, the new things are the PL cards which I just broke down and bought though I don't do PL, the blue (aqua)and the borders of airplanes.

Marianne,
Thanks for the great new prompts!!

I do have a question, I guess I am not up on trends, what is a band design?? I was thinking it was just strips but now I'm not sure!

for prompts #2 and #3:
Here we go

My something old is the ledger stamp, which has been in my stash for at least 2-3 years, and my something new is the flower, which I just bought the die set to make this week. My border is a stitched border going around the page, and the photo also has a mat/border.

This is for prompt #5, from Jen's Make It Meaningful:Heritage. I came across this photo today and just had to sit and write its story. Don't think you have to read it. It's just the relationship between dad's old clock radio and one of his favorite songs My Grandfather's Clock...you know the one that "stopped short, never to go again when the old man died." Sometimes you just have to stop and record something for posterity. Not artistic, but the kids and grands will be glad to have it.

The Radio

This will probably be my last one. I'm leaving to go to CA to see our newest DGS. Can't wait to get my hands on him.

I take it to mean a design that either goes straight down the page, or straight across.

Here's a good article explaining the design....

Thanks for the "Win" Marianne.....Your prompts are so inspiring. I finished a page using the butterfly prompt...I used 3 mistable butterflies I have had in my stash a long time. I am trying to finish up my Summer 2013 before Summer 2014. Also, trying to StashBust some of my Yes, Please Collection and make a dent in it. Used my Distress Inks to make the watercolor background.
Days like these

Cassie (my 15yo daughter) and I spending the weekend at our Resort. We rented a cabin to do just Girl things....Craft/Movies/Read/Swim...my sons are staying home. I hope to get at least 5 pages done.
