My oldest son and his wife had a beautiful Hawaiian beach wedding complete with a preacher in a lava-lava (wrap-around sarong). Six years and two babies later, I have scrapped every aspect of our time in Hawaii EXCEPT the wedding because I want to get it "just right".

I'm not so much worried about motifs on my papers (I can always add embellishments for that), but I do want to get the color palette and patterns right.

Any suggestions?

If you did want a beautiful tropical/retro/vintage paper collection I highly reccomend Kaisercraft's Paradiso line. I normally am not a massive fan of Kaisercraft but this line is beautiful! I bought some even though I don't have ANY tropical holiday pics to scrap, I liked it that much!

I had to google the Paradiso line and, I have to agree. That's a beautiful collection!
I have yet to scrapbook either my son or my daughter's wedding for the same reason - pursuit of perfection. Ridiculous. I need to get them done!

I am working on my DD's wedding and I really like Simple Stories "the story of us" line. I can see it working for any wedding. My DD's was a very formal event in DC and I know what you mean about it having to be "just right" I really got tired of doing everything in the color of the wedding and eventually found other things that worked well ..I also love Bella Blvd "love and marriage" line. Good luck!

I just bought Simple Stories The Story of Us for my beach wedding. I plan on adding some tropical colors with it too since it's fairly neutral. I've been looking for the perfect line for the past 7 years since I got married and can't wait to get going on my wedding album!

That Kaiserkraft Paradiso line is very pretty. I bet it would go well with the Story of Us!

Hi, mommyof_4~

I LOVE Maui! where was the ceremony?

The ceremony took place on Waimanalo Beach, a relatively deserted beach on the east side of Oahu. It is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!!!

Thank you so much, ladies, for your advice. I had not seen any of these lines, but they are all beautiful. It looks like I'm going to have to spend some time on the Internet assembling a kit from several different manufacturers.

I did an Internet search last night and found these online retailers who have tropical/Hawaii products:
Tropical Scrapbooking,
Island Paperie, and
Scrap Your Trip.

Has anyone ever ordered from any of these companies? Are the off-brand papers good cardstock quality?

Thank you! I'm really inspired to start scrapping this wedding!

I really liked the DCWV Tahiti stack. It is a retired stack, but you can still find it.

I went on an Hawaii vaca in March, and have been waiting for the perfect papers to start my travel album too. I loved the Paradsio line, but it felt a little to distressed for my vacation - I think it would be great for a wedding. I'm really loving the bright colors of Hello Sunshine by simple stories, the gradient patterns seem so beachy to me. Basic Grey's Highline collection has quite a few gradients in sunset tones too.

Do you have a silhouette or cameo? I just did search under tropical and found some really nice cut files. If it were me I'd be tempted to find a collection that has colors that will work with the pictures and then make some of my embellishments. I tend to not work well with themed paper because I don't want to cover something up.

I've been to the actual Island Paperie's location in Maui, GREAT people and store! I'd order in a heartbeat from them!
OP, Oahu is my next island to visit, hubby wants to move to Hawaii, and has narrowed it down to Oahu and the big island, so for me, that means getting to see both, to decide! lol YAY me

I've ordered many times from "Scrap your Trip" although it's been about two years since my last order. I always found them to be a wonderful company to deal with. Quick shipping, complete orders, and no damage on any of the products I ordered.

I also shopped at Island Paperie while vacationing in Maui. They had an amazing selection of Hawaiian products and I enjoyed my stop there. Just happened to see it as we drove by and made my DH stop...was glad I did. We will be going back in 2 years...can't wait!

I want to thank everyone who provided such helpful feedback and advice! Your suggestions helped me to think in other ways than I had originally thought.

sbartist1: Thank you for posting your beautiful layouts! Your photos are so beautiful, and your layouts remind me to keep my focus on the beautiful wedding photos I have.

For anyone else who might be working on tropical/beach layouts, here is a summary of the collections that were suggested in this thread:
1. Kaisercraft - Paradiso
2. Simple Stories - The Story of Us
3. Bella Blvd - Love & Marriage
4. DCWV - Tahiti
5. Simple Stories - Good Day Sunshine
6. Basic Grey - Highline
7. Prima - Seashore

And thank you to those who have had experience with Island Paperie and Scrap Your Trip and took the time to let me know of your experience with these two stores. I really love the papers at Island Paperie and will definitely be ordering from them. I have numerous other travel destination layouts that I'm still working on, and I can see myself ordering from Scrap Your Trip for those.
