Welcome to the 2014 STASHBUSTERS CHALLENGE thread.
Everyone is welcome to play. Pick a prompt and jump right in!

Prompts are open for two weeks.

The more you play, the more chances you have to win a small scrapping goody from me (and some others who are donating prizes!!) and the more pages you will get done!

Please link up your creation in this thread for a chance to win and I will also have a challenge box you can check during the upload process.
Look for **Stash Busters Challenge**

You can submit more than one page/project for each challenge so feel free to make use of your inspiration.

**You can combine all these prompts. Each prompt you use is good for one chance to win...so use 3 prompts on one layout = 3 chances to win!***

We all like to get comments on our pages so if you are playing along please try to find the time to return the favor!

**********************************************************************
Deadline for these challenges are MONDAY June 17th @ 11:59 pm PST

**********************************************************************

Prompt #1

Use a repeating shape (at least 7) on your project.

It can be anything...as long as there are a bunch. Circles, stars, hexagons, arrows, hearts, butterflies, cameras....etc.

Prompt #3

Channel your inner Tim Holtz
** you can also just use this prompt for adding some stamping to your page /card.

In honor of the fact that this Friday (June 6th) I am taking a class with Tim Holtz at my LSS, add something in the style of Tim Holtz to your project. (grunge/steampunk/industrial/masculine/mixed media)
Use any product from Tim Holtz and that counts too!

Tim's style includes lots of Distress ink, mist splatters, inked edges, gears, manilla tags etc...

This might be a perfect time to get some Father's Day cards made!

@nylene, yes those were homemade enamel dots. I learned about the striped ones from the peas, I have never found them in a brick and mortar store either, though. I ordered them online from the EK success website, they were the best online price I could find.

Marianne, I should watch your videos before I comment on your work. You answer all my questions. I really don't like watching scrapping videos usually, but I love yours. You move through them quickly and I love watching you make decisions as you go. Thanks for providing them.

Thanks, too, for the new prompts. I'm not doing a lot of scrapping. I've had my 2nd cataract surgery and now neither lens of my glasses help. I will have to wait for about 6 weeks before they will make my new glasses which will be mainly for reading small print.

I've been making tons of cards though to help my DGD with a 4-H Demonstration. I'll take some photos since there are lots of repeated patterns that will fit prompt #1.

Thanks again for the prompts and videos.

Rachelle, thanks for info about your cute striped DIY enamel dots. I may order some. They are so cute.

Tried my hand at the sketch:
Bad Timing

I feel like it's been so long since I've scrapped a 12x12 page, I've been doing so many 8.5x11 from disneyland, so it was nice to take a little break from that format.

I have not done any real scrapping since my eye surgeries, but to help my DGD with a 4-H demo I have made some pop-up box cards for her to use as examples while she practices. I took these photos today and realized that she's folded, unfolded, packed and unpacked them enough that things are falling off and there need to be some repairs. But you get the idea. She has made at least 6 by herself and made 3 that she gave to a neighbor, her teacher and her retiring principal. Her demo is teaching how to make a pop-up box card. She has it down to a science.

Here are mine, they each have at least 7 repeated shapes on them.

Hi Marianne - wonderful prompts here. I especially love the repeating shape challenge. The examples are beautiful! I'm hoping I get a chance to participate this round. Thank you for keeping this going.

Nylene - I have been MIA for awhile due to work. I'm so sorry to hear about your eyes and that you've gone through two cataract surgeries. Hope you recover soon. Please PM me if you need anything.

Elise - I get so happy when I see you here on 2peas or on IG. You updated your profile photo! I love it!

Rachelle - your homemade enamel dots look great! I didn't realize you had made them yourself until your post on this thread. Did you use perler beads? I've seen a lot of threads on the message board about them. I'll have to try it one day.

@Anne - Thanks so much, I thought it was time for an update! I haven't been near as busy as you, but last month was tough. Hope you get a chance to scrap, have missed seeing your wonderful layouts!

Hi Everyone!

I have one layout today for prompts #1 and #2

Dream a little Dream

For prompt #1 it has repeated stars (and circles, I guess with the sequins and other various circles like doily and flair). And for prompt #2 it has lots of wood veneer (stars, hearts, cloud, bird), a couple of flair, and a little bit of washi tape (Friday I'm in Love). This is the 6th layout I have made with my homemade kit featuring Glitz77, Amy Tangerine Plus One and October Afternoon Snapshots) and I am getting a bit tired of the colour palette for now, so it may be time to break out something fresh.

Things have still been a bit hectic at my house but I promise as always to catch up on my back praises later tonight after I get the kids settled in. I hope everyone is doing wonderfully, and I hope to have a bit more time to scrap soon!

For those who asked, I just googled and looked on Pinterest for Pop-Up Box cards and found tons of them. I can't find the one I actually used, but the measurements are the same as on this video Pop Up Card We decorate the braces before we put them inside the box. This fits a standard A2 card envelope.
There are hundreds of examples, both simple and extremely extravagant. Lots of fun to make.

For those wondering about the title on the "aurora" page, I did cut it with my cricut. It is the "nursery rhymes" font, welded on the gypsy then cut out on DCWV glitzy-glitter paper.

Here is another for prompt #3, the Tim Holtz challenge:
Goofy

It was interesting to use a tim holtz product on a very non-tim holtz style page, but I am happy that I used up a product I haven't touched in quite a while!

I have a page with hearts like the example of the stitched hearts. But I have just taken both of my sewing machines in for servicing. I hope I get one back by Monday, or I'm going to miss the deadline for this challenge! I wasn't thinking about scrapping, but wanted the machines in good condition before I start sewing with my granddaughters next week! Silly me!

I may have to post it late because it has my cute new grandson's feet on it!!

thanks for the extension...I really wanted to do some of these propmts but I just haven't had the time...hopefully I can do some scrapping before the new deadline.

It was fate that I would enjoy paper crafts...my name is Sharmon (like the TP)!

Thanks for the extension, Marianne. Hopefully I'll have one of my sewing machines back by then so I can finish this layout. I could just stick it down, but I really want to stitch it.

Have a great outing!

@Marianne - so glad the SB flair made it to you!

Finally got a layout up, it's for prompt 2. It doesn't look like much since there's no title or journaling, but there is a divided page facing it that has more photos and all that good stuff. Have been going with a simpler look to my pages lately, while still using up fun bits and pieces.
