Has anyone ever purged their stash and donated to a school? I've decided it's time to get rid of A LOT of scrapping & stamping stuff that I don't think I can sell. Will the local elementary school take small punches, pens, cardstock, stamps? If they don't have use for it, where else would you donate?

Ask the recreation/activities director of a nursing home. While the stereotype of a nursing home resident is extremely elderly and frail to the point of being incapacitated that isn't the reality of all residents.
Many of them are still able to enjoy paper crafts of all kinds.

|Posted: 6/12/2014 12:39:55 PM|My daughter's grade 4 teacher this year asked for donated craft supplies. After a month my daughter said they only got a little sent in. I had forgotten about it. So I went through my scraps and stickers.Found some other stuff and my daughter said how happy her class was for the extra art supplies.
7 years to get here... So now what?

I brought a bunch of paper to my daughter's elementary school a few years back. They were thrilled with the donation.

I have and continue to donate to a middle school scrapbook club. With the extra supplies they are able to go to a senior citizen club and do some projects amd also to other schools as well doing their own projects. Periodically they send thank you cards through their teacher, really talented kids!

In the past, I've donated to my grandson's elem. school, the local library, and to Ronald McDonald House. You might check with schools or churches to see if they know of any org. who might need some donations. It's nice of you to think of others. Maria

Most schools these days are so strapped for cash for the extras that they would welcome getting anything you want to send their way that they can use for art classes or other coursework. The other places listed are also always looking for donations. I donated about four huge boxes of scrap paper and stickers to the elementary school near my old house and they were thrilled to get it. Be sure you get a donation slip so you can take the deduction on your taxes.

I've done it several times. They've always been shocked and thrilled to take whatever I give them.
I've also donated it to the Sunday School/VBS at our church and to a coworker's daycare.

I'm going to check with my local elderly rehabilitation center to see if they want my donation of tons of cardstock and Stampin' Up stamps. If not I'll go on to the women's home and the local schools. Thanks peas!!

I donate scrapbook stuff to my elementary school all the time. The teachers are so grateful. The grade three teacher in particular just dies of happiness when I empty out my paper scraps bin and bring it to the school.... so fun to see the scraps repurposed in different art projects
Will I ever get to Buckethead?!

If a school won't take it, I know I donated to a children's hospital and they were incredibly grateful.

I purged and donated to our elementary school. They were more than happy to get everything. There was quite a lot, including stamps, circle cutters, markers, stickers, paper. So I don't think it matters. Anything sharp, the teacher will probably use to cut things for the kids.
