I have a Quickutz Revolution which I still love and get a lot of use out of. I have some never used dies in my stash that are wider than the Revolution will allow. They were meant for the Epic 6, which I never upgraded to. I am working on a project where I would love to use one of these larger dies. All my dies are made by Quickutz/Lifestyle crafts. I'm out of the loop with the current die cutting machines. My question is which manual die cut machine should I purchase?

Thanks.

Sizzix Big Shot . I think this is one of the most versitile manual die cutting machines out there. I've had mine for years.

You should be able to use the Big Shot or Big Kick. They are basically the same machine.
Here is the BK at HL and you can use a coupon.

Just to be sure, what is the width of the largest of your dies? The Big Shot/Big Kick can take dies that are up to 6 inches wide.

The width of the largest die would fit in the 6 inch machine.

I bought the Sizzix Big Kick Vintaj recently (through Amazon Prime, $59.99) and happened to have about $25 in Discover rebate so applied that and brought price down to $35. I had the original red Sizzix which I got rid of because the Bigz dies I wanted to use wouldn't fit in that. I am very pleased with the Vintaj and it's compatible with about any die, I think.

Big Shot. I've owned the QK squeeze, the Revolution, the Epic, and a BS. I will always have a fond place in my heart for the Rev, but the BS is my favorite. I like the multipurpose platform and knowing I can cut any sandwich combo I need to. I got the magnetic platform for Christmas and find it really handy for using wafer thin dies (like QK). It works a lot like the Rev that way.

Stay away from the Epic. There were a few good machines in the lot, but most of them have uneven pressure and don't cut the newer, more intricate dies, very evenly. I also didn't like the flex mats, as they warped horribly and I would have to bake them weekly to get them to flatten out again. And don't get me started on the oldest Epic mats that curled into a big C when you rolled them through!

Thanks! I knew the peas could help. The stores by me only seem to carry the Big Kick. I haven't seen the Big Shot in stock anywhere.

The Big Kick and the Big Shot are essentially the same machine with cosmetic differences only. Get whichever one you can find for the best price. I bought my Big Kick with a 50% off coupon.

I do have a 50% coupon to a chain store that has it in stock, so I guess Big Kick it is. Which is good because I want to be able to work on the project over the weekend. The Big Shot I'd have to order online and wouldn't be able to use a coupon, but that one is pretty.

I love my revolution.
And I love my big shot.
I highly recommend the big shot works well with QK stuff.
