As I was pulling weeks this morning, I had an idea for a plan and a thread that I want to start ASAP.

Ideas for newbies and challenges geared toward newbies or anyone who want to participate; those who do not have many stamps, or have a limited budget for supplies.

Will also be asking those who are regulars here to offer ideas that they used when they first began. We all started somewhere. I also think there will able be challenges that do not include mailings.

The projects would include stamping on scrapbook pages.remember you can create sentiments on the computer. There are also great free digital stamp images that can be used. Sentiments can be handwritten if your handwriting is better than mine.

Some of the projects that we challenge people to make can also be used as gifts or can go on scrap booking pages. The tags that we are making - make great addition to cards, scrapbook pages and as book marks.

Samples of things that can be used as stamps - I have used the bottoms of my grandson's shoes. Some children's shoes have great designs on the bottom. Wine bottle corks or any cork stoppers can be used, bottle caps to make circles, vegetables netting bags,(stretch the netting as much as you want and then stamp, haven't tried this one but draw a design with Elmer's glue or hot glue - let try and then stamp, corrugated cardboard, just saw online a way to use the foam plate that meat is packaged on and using self adhesive fun foam pre cut shapes. I can't wait to try this my self. Found it on " Approachable Art by Judi Hurwill " Please take a look.

We want to make you welcome and share with you and others different techniques from products you have at home.

More to follow.

This is WONDERFUL! I also often think that we really need to welcome newbie better, without let them believe that they need ton of stuff and to make piece of art for each layout... And rediscovering simple and cheap techniques, or finding lots of way to use one item!

Sounds like a great idea. I have a whole lot of frugal scrapbooking ideas posted on my blog since there is not a scrapbook store located anywhere near me for almost 45 miles one way. I didn't have a choice but to find other things I could use for scrapbooking. Here is a link to some of the things I used that newbie's might already own.
Frugal scrapbooking
Also if you follow the link below it will lead you to my pinboard where I have saved pins from other scrappers concerning this very subject. I think I have 3 boards alone just on frugal scrapooking. There is also a board on how to DIY Scrapbooking flowers. All I ask is that if you share these ideas from my blog please link them back to my blog so that I get credit for coming up with them.
