|Posted: 6/13/2014 2:11:47 PM|after all the work, editing, picking which photos, uploading, choosing sizes etc and I forgot to uncheck a box and Costco "auto-corrected" my pictures and anything black and white turned out way too dark.
Isn't scrapbooking fun sometimes?

That stinks! Did you check with Costco to see if they would reprint them? Sounds like they need to update their website so that auto-correct isn't automatically checked.

I was uploading my pics to Costco late last night. Before I clicked the final box I remembered something about auto-correct and luckily I unchecked it in time. It is such a pain, wish they didn't default to it.

I will have to check with Costco and probably drive back over there... they definitely do not look that bad on my computer!
I'm usually not that picky but my son's face is so dark in the photos you can't see any of his features. It's like a silhouette of a baby in a onesie. Totally not what I was going for.

Go back and have them redo it. I remember years a go I took a negative in to have a 5x7 made from some wedding photos I had. They made like 6 copies with all degrees of coloring so there must be some settings that they use that gets adjusted either by machine or a human. But the bottom line it was auto corrected with too much black saturation.

I just had a bunch done at Sam's and I said the same thing; I wish the default was NOT to auto correct! Luckily, I remember to check it for each of my FIVE checkouts!
Take them back and ask to have them reprinted.

You can change the default settings on your account. Sorry I'm not sure where exactly. I changed mine so that luster is the default!

Yes you can turn off the auto correct, just to go my account/printing preferences.
I turned mine off a long time ago.

Wow, I never realized this - I have gotten photos printed at Costco and they often seem darker then they should. I am going to check my settings now to see if auto-correct is on, as I have more pictures to upload.
