Hi Swappers! Round 1 of the Junk Journal Swap is winding down, the amazing journal pages have been rolling in. Each one is so unique and wonderful. I can not wait to get them bound!
It has been a great collaborative project.
This round we will be doing Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas/Winter
Here are the Specifications:
Do you like Smashbooks or the idea of journaling but not sure where to start? This is the swap for you! Junk (or Junque) Journals are fun, eclectic, unique keepsakes for photos, inspiration keeping or journaling.
You Tube Inspiration
Due Date: In the mail Postmarked Nov 1, 2012 *FIRM*
over 8 weeks to design, and create and mail.
Please check in once a week and let us know how you are doing.
Each participant will create 10, 5x7 (portrait) 1 page junk journal pages decorated on both sides. Your pages will be swapped out and you will receive back a 10 page Junk Journal mini book.
Please use heavy good quality card stock or chipboard for your base and leave a 1/2 inch of the left edge free of design or embellishments so I can bind these to send back to you. Also remember to leave some space for the recipient to add their own journaling, photos ect.
Make sure you sign or tag your pages with your name and/or information.
Pockets, fold outs, stamping, stitching, chunky embellishments, envelopes, tags are encouraged! Let's make these really fun and unique. Do your best most creative work.
Please stay within suggested colors so we end up with a cohesive final product.
Make Sure to mark each set of pages with your peaname, real name, group name and place in a baggy. Mail your pagesa return address label and $6.00 for 1-2 sets which includes priority flat rate with Delivery Confirmation (add extra$ if you are in more than one category $13.00 for 3-5 sets) return postage to me no later than Nov. 1. I would like to get the your journals returned to you by Nov. 15. So please be courteous of the other swappers and let us know right away if you can not complete so we can get an Angel or make arrangements to fill your spot.

Hey Aimee, I just got back from picking up some supplies and I picked up "All is Bright" by My Minds Eye". It has red, green, blue, and white. Will this line be okay for vintage or should I switch to Modern Christmas? Thought I better check.  |

Hi Aimee, I have never done a swap and this seems like a great first. Couple newbie questions . . U make 10 Different 5x7 pages (leaving a margin on left) with our theme. Send a 5 dollar check and return address label to you. Then u bind it and send it to someone for the swap. I receive another's 10 pages. Or do u take 1page from each ten people and bind them? Sorry so long, I just wondered if mine should flow together? | |

Hi Sharri, You make 10 identical 5x7 pages. Send them to me along with return postage and I will swap them out for 10 pages from the people in your group. So lets say you sign up for Vintage Christmas-you will receive a journal with 10 different pages in the vintage Christmas theme including one of your own. Clear as mud? |

I have not done one of these. I am sure they are kinda alone the same lines as the December Daily.
questions:
Is this swap more about the journaling and less about pictures?
Are the spots for pics(if we are to have them) like smaller pics say 2x2 or 3x3 size?
Is there suppose to be more tags and/or die cuts for decoration?
Just trying to get a feel for these. I look at some on YouTube and it seems more about journaling or cutsey items and less about pictures. |

Yes Becky you are right. Junk journals are more about memorabilia, journaling, inspirational quotes, small photos, keepsakes. Kind of a cross between a smashbook and a art journal. |
