I didn't know this. That's very sad. I remember their earlier issues from when I first started scrapbooking! |

So many of my favorite magazines have stopped publishing in the last 12 months. I really love magazines, but I think eventually most will be web based. Kind of sad. |

Doesn't this only leave one now? Scrapbooks Etc. - the BH & G mag?
I wonder how stable they are. Maybe way more stable, now that they aren't dividing ad revenue.

CK is still around, they just turned their SS subscribers over to CK since it's gone now. |

Heard that.
Is Creating Keepsakes ending too?
I haven't heard anything about that. With SS folding back into CK, I was hoping for a magazine with some substance again.
My absolute favorite mag (Cottage Living) quit publishing in December. The substitute turned out to be a new favorite. Thankfully!
But, I'm very leary of subscribing or renewing any magazine right now. Particularly CK. I was still getting tons of Renewal notices after hearing about them folding. I just don't trust CK's practices at all.
I sure hope SB etc sticks around. I really like that one. |

Wow. Guess scrapbooking just isn't as popular as it used to be.
I do have a little place in my heart for MM. They were the first mag to publish a layout of mine, back when I cared about that stuff. |

That's sad. MM is one of my favorites, the only one I subscribe to.

I have let most of my subscriptions lapse. I still get Scrapbook Trends and Cards (by the same company). I love both of them, but have noticed the books are getting skinnier and skinnier. It's kind of sad.

I contacted Memory Makers to request an interview. They refused to talk to me on the phone, but the publisher emailed me back with answers to my questions, including what will happen to subscribers who are paid up for several issues in advance. You can see the Q&A here. |

Guess scrapbooking just isn't as popular as it used to be.
That might be true to a degree, but I think with so many people putting fabulous ideas on blogs and tons of online inspiration, the idea of a magazine as a go to source for ideas may have become outdated. I read four blogs from some women who are so creative it makes my brain hurt to think how they even come up with this stuff, and yet there it is, consistently. New ideas, new ways to use products and fresh mixes of items for awesome pages and cards. A magazine is incredibly stale compared to that. And not searchable, either.

I think sb has it's ups and downs. Alot of people are doing digital. I think there are still alot of us sb'ing out there. But I know for me..something had to go in terms of money spent. So I stopped buying mag's. And I cut back on supplies. I had SOO much in my stash, that I have been sb'ing for the last 2 yrs, and havn't bought much at all, beside adheasive and cardstock. I hope CK can keep it going. |

That makes me sad...there was a copy of MM in the scrapbook kit I bought at Target in 1998, and that opened the whole world of scrapbooking to me. I've had a soft spot for MM ever since. It feels like the end of an era. |

They were my favorite scrapbooking magazine however I did let my subscription lapse since I do not scrapbook much. I always like them way better than CK. |
