I'm in charge of bringing finger sandwiches to my daughters piano recital in 2 weeks. I was going to make my usual cucumber and cream cheese squares, but that is getting boring. Does anyone have any ideas for something different?

Yummmmm... I'm going to have to try making those Beadhound!

When making finger sandwiches for kids, I usually throw in a few egg salad ones, for the non-cucumber kids. Just a thought.

Maybe you could make 'mixed' sandwiches - Make them up and cut them into triangles.
curried egg and lettuce
Ham and tomato
beef or pastrami and pickle
ham and thinly sliced pineapple
turkey and cranberry
beef and salas
cheese and gherkin
tuna and onion
salmon and dill

Call your grocery store bakery and have them make a pullman loaf of white bread and one of wheat bread. Ask them to slice them the long way. When you get them home, cut off the crusts and put one slice of wheat bread on counter, spread either ham or chicken salad on top, top with piece of white bread and then spread cheese spread or egg salad on top of that. Top with slice of wheat bread.
Alternate using the different types of bread and fillings until it's all used up and you have several "loaves" of finger sandwiches. Wrap each loaf in foil and refrigerate. Slice into 1/2" slices and arrange on platter to serve.

how about rounds? either use the pullman bread or wraps, spread butter and meat or crean cheese and a pickle on one end, then rollup and cover in plastic wrap and twist the ends like a candy to make it tight. Then put in the fridge for about an hour so they get harder, then take out unwrap and slice with a very sharp knife. I used to make tonnes of them at the country club, and people loved them.

who is this kid and why does he keep calling me mom?
