I was browsing some blogs today and saw it again. An old window used as a picture frame. A picture in each pane. They are mounted behind the glass but I never see any kind of adhesive. How the heck do you get them to stick with nothing showing and not damaging the picture?

Does the window have frames between the panes? I'd be attaching them there if it were me.

You can attach them to the frame, or you can use a tiny adhesive dot on each corner of the photo.

I don't want to fill each pane, so attaching it to the frame won't work. They are definitely attached directly to the glass with no matting or anything to fill the space. I don't use glue dots. Any special kind I should get that won't show?

You could stick them to acetate sheets that fill the panes and attach the acetate to the frame.

Jen, that sounds brilliant! Why are the simplest things the hardest to think of. I can think of all kinds of things right off that I could put on the acetate too. Now, hopefully I will find a couple old windows at garage sales this summer. I can't wait to play now.

Jen, you're my hero. That's brilliant!

dynalady, check craigslist. They show up all the time.

We have an 8 pane window we use for a dry erase board and we got ours that way.

I saw one on a blog recently where she had painted the panes with black chalkboard paint. So very cool. There are so many things you can do with them. I don't have links, sorry. I was just browsing around.

I like Quakehold's clear Museum Gel for a clear, removable adhesive. I also use it to adhere china, vases and other delicate items to shelves so my four-footed earthquakes (cats) can't knock them off.
