I am in charge of the popcorn sales this year. I need to come up with a great popcorn kick off meeting. I thought about popping some popcorn and decorating the room, but are there any others on this board that have gone to some FUN popcorn kick off meetings? Or anyone that has any ideas for the meeting? I need some fun ideas to get the kids motivated to sell the popcorn. This and the wreath sales are the fundraisers for the year so we need to make it good. Thanks so much for your ideas.

I hear ya, I'm in charge of popcorn sales for our Venture Crew (and to think I thought I was done with Scouts when my son got his Eagle ... ha!).
We first motivated our parents with the popcorn samples at our parent committee meeting, then gave some to the kids that night and basically are reminding them that if they want to go on the cool outings, then they need to sell popcorn!
We have put out a Patrol Challenge when we do direct sales - the winning patrol gets an outing to the skatepark and pizza! The Patrols also are coming up with skits for our Court of Honor so they can earn an additional prize ... whatever works!

this will be our first year selling popcorn.
does it really sell itself? or do you need to do a hard sell?
this troop does popcorn, and sausages for their fundraisers, and two bottle drives.
wreaths sound like fun.

I don't mind the mess, so we are going to buy cheap popcorn, pop it, and do the old fill up a cup and run back to pour it into another bucket. Only trick is...the cups will be attached to their shoes.
I am also thinking about having each child make an edible popcorn necklace.

These sound like great ideas ladies! Thanks so much. What is the cups attached to their shoes game? That sounds like fun. Do any of you decorate and have an actual kick off party? Just checking because our popcorn sales start in less than a month. Thanks again for your ideas ladies!
