How far in advance can I make pumpkin pie and it still be good?

I'm making pumpkin pie for a retirement party next wednesday and was wondering if anybody knew how far in advance I could make it and how to store it so it will still be good? This is my 2nd pumpkin pie I've ever made so I'm a little clueless here. Power of the peas help me!

I found this:

"Pumpkin Pie may be left at room temperature for up to two hours after baking. Once cooled (cooling process normally takes about two hours), cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2-3 days. If warm pie is preferred it can be warmed in the microwave. Keep in mind that pumpkin pie is at its very best when served the day it’s baked. Remember, pumpkin pie is a custard-type pie, so freezing is not recommended."

However, other comments were that they never refrigerate
pumpkin pies. Sorry I'm not much more help.

I'm not an expert but with pumpkin pie my crust starts getting soggy after a couple of days. I would personally make it the day before it's needed.
