Thinking of buying one or the other. Cleaning linoleum.

Which do you have?
Why do you like it?
Which brands to buy or not to buy?

The peas know all! LOL

My cubemate at work raves about the Shark Steam Mop. I put it on my Christmas list!

I am looking into the same products. I read reviews online for the floormate and they are not so good. I did read several reviews for the new Bissell model that vacuums and mops the floor with steam. It is going on sale at Koh's tomorrow for $129 and I have a coupon so I think I am going to pick that one up.

My friend raves about her Shark. I tried using it and hated it.

I'm going for a HAAN. It looks like it's got really good consumer reviews.

Based on earlier Pea recommendation threads, last month we purchased (from AMAZON) the Haan Slim and Light steam cleaner. LOVE IT!

It uses regular water, heats up so fast, is low profile so fits nicely under surfaces and it cleans great! I read the Amazon reviews and that is how we picked that particular model.

I purchased extra cleaning pads, but it's so simple to quickly pull a dirty one off by stepping on the edge and just setting the steamer down on top of a new on reattaches it. (The blue and pink colored pads are the same, just different colors in case YOU want to use some pads only in certain rooms)

Prior to this, we were cleaning our kitchen floor on hands and knees to get a nice, streak free clean. Now, I cleaned the entire laminate floor in under 5 minutes (and I have a bad heart and cannot exert myself much without getting angina). It also took off some imbedded dirt from our entry room tiles, that we hadn't gotten out scrubbing by hand.

Dh was thrilled with the purchase too once he saw how well it cleaned. (He does most of our cleaning, and used to run a Servicemaster franchise - the guy KNOWS cleaning! LOL)

My vote is for a Haan.

I've had two FloorMates. Each broke at about the one year mark. When the second one died, I decided to try the steam mop. I got a Shark. So far so good with that. I'm pretty sure I've had it over a year too. I do get pretty hot when using it in the summer though - it's a steam room effect .

The floormate is awful! Big and bulky and ineffective and eventually, it stinks, because there's not a good way to get all the components clean.

We have a Eureka Envirosteamer Steam Mop and like it very well.

I made it! Now what?

I have the floormate and I really like it. I like the fact that it has a dry vacuum option on it so you can first get all the little pieces that sweeping misses. Then when you are using the wet option it sucks the water up and any more little pieces of dirt that sweeping and vacuuming left behind. My floors are so smooth when it is done. The only hard part I've found is finding the cleaning solution for it. Only one store in town seems to carry it. When I was out I just used water to clean the floor and that worked pretty well too.

I hate my Shark steam mop for multiple reasons. It is not easy to use, it is hard to push down and get started, it leaves streaks etc.
I do love my Shark cordless sweep vac on my hardwoods, it picks everything up and I mean everything without throwing it around.

See I LOVE my Haan, but am now dying to get that one that vacuums and steams all in one. It's a pain in the butt to vacuum then steam mop.

I will transfer my Haan upstairs when I get the next duo model...

I have the Hoover Floormate and love it. I buy the Floormate cleaner from Bed, Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon. It leaves my tile floor amazingly clean, dries quickly and streak-free.
