Does fiestaware chip as easily as typical stoneware?

I think I'm hard on dishes. My dishes are so chipped, mostly from loading, unloading from dishwasher & putting away. I'm close to taking the plunge on F.W. but wanted to check on this issue first. TIA!

I haven't chipped any of my pieces and I have had them for a few years now. I also had Pfaltzgraff before this and no issues with chipping either.

Mine hasn't chipped, with four kids using them!

We've had our fiestaware since we got married 10 years ago, and not one piece has any chips or cracks. Love that stuff! Our 4 year old and nieces and nephews eat off of these dishes also, and never a problem!

Really? I don't think it is. I have some plates that are stoneware and are not chipped etc. My dh doesn't like them though because they are heavy. As for Fiestaware - I have 2 platters that were my mothers. (I will be 61 in 2 weeks). I have no idea how long she had them, but she passed away in 1965 and I've had them since. They have been thru moves - 2 kids and whatever in 45 years (again don't know how long she had had them) but neither are chipped.

We've had it for five years and the only piece I have that is chipped is one I dropped from counter height, it bounced of the edge of the open dishwasher and twice on the stone tile floor. A sliver about an inch long broke off.. in one piece.

No. It's not stoneware. It's vitrified china. A much stronger material.

I bang mine all the time and cringe, thinking there will be a chip. So far no chips, they seem to be indestructible!

YAY! thank you for those reviews! I'm going to Macy's today to check it out. Scrappower, you minded me that I had Pflatzgraff before & it didn't chip either, but it got gray marks all over it. I'm excited to check out Fiestware!

I'm replacing my pfaltzgraff with fiestaware because it is chipping badly! I had some older pfaltzgraff and it never chipped but this new stuff has (I have a huge collection of Naopli) it also gets hotter than heck when I use it in the mocrowave (even though the liquids inside are barely warm, sometimes even COLD) I heard it should not do this and is a sign it is not being fired properly. Since I bought much of it over the course of 3 years I have given up on them! it wasn't just a bad batch.

We've had Fiesta for twenty years and I've chipped two bowls in that time. I have also broken a few plates but the stuff wears like iron. You really have to be rough with it to do any damage.

On a side note -- what is strange though, is that when I broke a couple of the small plates, they broke in exactly the same pattern. Same number of broken pieces, same sized pieces, etc. It was strange. (I keep the broken plates for craft projects so I was able to compare the broken plates).

I love Fiesta and will never go with another brand.

I was given 10 place settings of Fiestaware last Christmas and our family of 5 (who entertains a lot) has really given them a workout this yr.

I DO have one tiny chip (1/8th in) on the edge of the dark blue cereal bowl. None of the other pieces have chips, we use our dishwasher several times/day. I wonder if that little chip was perhaps from some sort of flaw that got missed, since the rest of the dishes are so "hardy".

I love my Fiestaware. I love color and everytime I open my kitchen cupboard I smile - it looks so happy in there!

Sweetie Pie Pea...OMG I have Napoli too and I was just crushed to discover how easy it chips!

Makes me so sad because I love the pattern but I've been looking around for a new set because I'm so over the crappy chippy stuff.

I have Pfaltzgraff I bought in a department store and it is a true work horse.

I have other Pfaltzgraff that chips like crazy.

I don't have Fiesta, but my sister does and has no problems with it over many years.

I just bought Fiesta Ware to replace my everyday dishes on Black Friday from Kohl's. Wound up being $22 and change for each 5 pc. place setting with the extra discounts. I've only heard good things about it and my girls can be clutzy with dishes, so it was time for a switch (plus I've had my old dishes for 20 years and in the past few months both of my girls had broken 3 places, a couple of bowls and a salad plate ) .

Coming in kinda late, but I've had my Fiestaware for almost 20 years, and none of it has ever chipped. We use it every single day. I've broken a few plates with my clutziness, but I've also dropped them without breaking or chipping,
