I recently upgraded my membership, so I can't see as how I would need more credits than the two a month I already have, but this deal seems really good - three extra credits for $34 or whatever, so I am pondering it.

This caution gives me pause:

Remember, there are limits to how many credits a member can have at any one time.
I'm gonna go investigate the site to see what those details are - but I wondered if anyone here had ever taken advantage of a similar sale. Maybe I am just being greedy?

I got the same email. For me, I already have 3 credits and I have about 10-15 audio books *waiting* to be listened too. I generally listen in phases/spurts. Lately, I haven't felt the urge.

So, I say it depends on how fast you're going through your credits right now. If you have credits available and a backlog of books, like me, I'd probably pass. If you're finding yourself having to wait until you can get more credits all the time? Then buying extra credits is something to consider. At $34? That's 3 books for the price of one in most instances, so I'd say it's a good deal.

I just started one, have one in reserve, and get two more in about two weeks. BUT I will be with dh on vacation for a week, so I doubt I will get to listen to any.

The regular Audible account will only let you accumulate 6 credits (I think). I got into a situation where I lost credits because I went over 6. When I called them - they told me I could upgrade my account for $10, and they would get my credits back with no limit and no expiration. I put my account in a hold state - where I wasn't buying any extra credits until I had used the ones I already accumulated.

When I got back to 0 credits I re-activated my monthly purchase plan. Now I watch my credits and don't let them build up like that.

Audible was great with helping me get the 'lost' credits back though. I didn't lose anything after talking with them. It did cost me $10 though - which is cheaper than losing even 1 credit.
