It is only a few weeks old, and I am for once enjoying blogging about something personal...I am definitely not the best blogger by far, but my first post sums up my reasoning, and the rest is a sort of ongoing collection of the journey...would love to hear about any other blogs on similar issues such as mine...ie, losing weight without fads or quick result tactics...possibly an emotional kickstart such as the one that prompted me...any blogs you can point me to?? Thanks!

Anyone interested in my journey can find mine at 8001 Steps

And my first post 8001 Steps Beginning

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of your beautiful surroundings, as well as being inspired by your steps to better health.

Have you seen pasta queen.com? The author lost half her body weight and wrote a book about it.

Great job! Your photos from hiking the other day are amazing! That's the one of the things I miss most about the Midwest, the fall colors!

I don't really have any weight loss blogs I read regularly, but I have a friend that does. I'll ask her if she has any suggestions.

I'm a Marine Mom and I totally your blog and the reason you're doing it! I tried to comment on the blog about 5 times, but I can't prove I'm not a robot, so I'm commenting here. I've only read the first post but am going back to read the rest!

I really like the blog runsforcookies She lost 125 pounds in 16 months through diet and exercise. She did have a lower body lift after she lost all the weight and blogged all about the good and bad of that. I will check out your blog. Good for you for starting one. I started one about running a few months ago but I haven't done anything with it in a while.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and I will check out the couple of blogs you spoke of!

Carolina Girl 71...I will look at the settings to see if I can make it easier to comment...And I hope all is good with your Marine!!...my son actually has several friends who are Marines...his best man at his wedding is a marine, lol! I had thought my son would go that route or Navy...my dad was navy and my son showed a strong interest in doing underwater welding...in the end though, he chose Army.

going to to check out your blog right now, but before I forgot, I wanted to post one of my favorite weight-loss blogs: A Neurotic Glamour Girl's WW Experience and Fitness Adventure
(I must confess I haven't checked out her site in quite a while, but I used to be a regular reader.)

Sheryl went from being overweight and doing no physical exercise whatsoever to running races (she's training for the NY marathon, I think), bike riding, stair climbs, and has been a 'success story' on the WW website.
