Gift baskets with card, board, and/or dice games - some easy for the younger, some harder for the older/adults or perhaps ones that are chance-related so anyone can win (i.e. Left Right Center comes to mind).

Do you crochet or knit? They have some fantabulous smaller projects on pinterest. Like hats, fingerless gloves, neck cuffs or ear warmers really cool patterns free!!

Another thing that would be fun is making personalized wrapping paper. With brown paper bags, stamps, stencils ect.

Hope that is kind of what you had in mind. HTH

Even with the snark, trolls and spelling police you are a great group of ladies!

I don't have a jumping off point but I do remember an idea I heard on Anderson about what one wife did for her family after her husband passed away. She made little pillows (heart shaped maybe) made from something of his (clothes or a blanket or something like that) and stuffed them. She gave everyone each one as a way to remember him. I have no idea why I held on to that, but felt compelled to share it.

For the family gifts I would create a theme basket. It works for all age groups and can be relatively easy & affordable to put together.

Chocolate or fondue basket (fondue pot/skewers, pound cake, various fruit)
Movie night basket
Pizza basket
Italian night basket
If your sister is single, a rainy night basket (comfy throw...affordable at Kohls when on sale, good book, some snacks, fun book to read)
Baking basket (sometimes Kohls will have the cake pop makers very very cheap.(ETA: right now the Babycakes donut or cake pops maker is on sale for $19.99. Use code LEAVES30 for an additional 30% discount. There's also a free shipping code). You could watch for that to go on sale, add a cookbook, some fun cooking accessories, icing, etc)

I liked GrinningCat's suggestion to make a pillow for each family in honor of your DH.

It is always easier to edit than it is to create

If she isn't single, this is still a great idea!!!

How about making some little cross stitches? They could be depict something sentimental or be cute and funky.

I've made some using patterns from Tiny Modernist, which has some fun designs like Converse shoes, cameras, vintage telephones. Or just search cross stitch patterns on Etsy for heaps of options.

I don't know what your budget is, but if it's not limited something we have enjoyed people giving us are memberships: like to the zoo or museum... Our zoo membership has been amazing!

If it is limited, you could put together date night gifts for the BIL/SIL couples and gift cards for all the kiddos...to DO something, like Build a Bear or a movie theater...

Or you could get each family a restaurant gift card.
