Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish (my dogs seem to like it better than the duck version). I get it at Pet Supplies Plus, but I'm pretty sure that Petco also sells it while Pet Smart does not.

I have a Bichon (with allergies) and a Havanese mix who both do well on this food.

This is at least the third thread you have posted about dog tear stains. I know because I answered the last two. Did you try any of he advice you got the last time (which by the way was good advice)?

I've put both on my dogs back on Beneful Healthy Coat. I tried several of the high cost pet store brands and their shedding and tearing were terrible. Both problems have now gone away and my pocketbook is happier too.

Backtopeality - This is her MO. She posts multiple threads about stuff till she becomes obsessed with the next topic, and posts multiple threads about that one...

Wow, are you sure you two are talking about the right Pea? This topic Of tear staining interested me so I went back through the OP's history and I don't see what you're talking about at all. I only went back a month and I see no other threads by her about this topic. I also don't see her posting multiple times about any single topic.

I had a Maltese and we put a tsp of Angel Eyes on his food every day and he never had tear stains! It's a great product, and we didn't have to worry about special food. I think you can get it online?

Nothing I have tried has helped my Malteses' tear staining problem. I bought Angel Eye's once, but after reading online how it's not good for many dogs, I just couldn't give it to her! Research it for yourself and see what you think. We just wipe her eyes and keep her cut close around her eyes.

Here's the link to this thread that many posted on and offered great advice.

Yes. They are talking about the right pea.

I hope she doesn't become too obsessed with vaginal dryness.

Actually, you are always looking for help for everything. Seriously, how do you function on a daily basis?

Well I think she is 62, so I am not sure if she's having memory problems or.....

As HouseLady pointed out, she never returns to thank anyone or even acknowledge that she read their posts.

Wow! What a mean turn this has taken. Did any of the linked threads talk about what food to feed a dog with tear stains? That was the question on this one. Whether or not she tried the other suggestions, can't you just reply to this question, or if you don't want to, just back out of the thread? It bothers me because she is my Moms age, and I would hate to see my Mom treated this way. Please be kind.

And yes, I know where I am!

Her problems are pretty severe. Just because I have asked this before, doesn't mean I am no looking for new solutions. I think a very few of you lose the purpose of this message board. I look to you Peas for answers because I know there are a variety of opinions and loads of knowledge here. Thank all of you for your suggestions. To the complaining Peas, you can't steal my joy, for the joy of the Lord is my strength! Blessings to all of you.

I think what people are responding to is the fact that you never say anything resembling, "The peas recommended A, B and C, and I've tried all of those options and none worked. Does anyone ever have any other ideas?" or "Thank you for the suggestions." If we don't know what you've tried, we're going to keep posting the same answers and/or get frustrated that it doesn't seem like you're "listening."

Feed your dog high-quality food, and remember that your dog is small and close to the ground so is more likely to get dust and dirt from the ground in her face, which may be part of the cause of the stains.

I followed the advice given here in the past and my maltese no longer has this issue. Simply giving her filtered water and switching her to a lamb/rice diet did the trick for me, have you tried that? I also stopped giving her snacks since they contained wheat/flour.

Have you asked your vet for a solution?

Why don't you join a message board that is for the maltese breed and ask for suggestions there? You'll find more information there vs. here on a scrapbooking message board where few have this breed.

No one here is trying to steal your joy. You BTT your threads without any acknowledgement or thanks and it makes you look unappreciative, if not rude to those that did offer their advice.

I don't give a rat's patoot how many threads you've posted. Doesn't bother me a bit.

I have a Shih Tzu that is white as can be. Our vet suggested filtered water when she was a puppy (I was concerned about staining) and she eats a combination of Innova and Three Dog Bakery food.

We haven't had any issues.
