I just received an email from Pinterest saying someone from the Ukraine was accessing my account and I need to change my account settings and create a new password. Has anyone ever encountered this? Or is this a spam thing? It has included a link for me to click to make changes. I'm hesitant to do so. Anyone receive an email stating this from Pinterest?

Don't click on the link in your email. Just go to Pinterest and make the changes yourself. The link in the email is probably fake and phishing for your account info.

Someone else posted about this the other day. Same email and when they went to Pinterest their account had been changed to read only.

You can usually tell if it's a fake email, but since I've seen a lot of this happening on Pinterest in the last few weeks I would trust the email.

They can go into the account and pin spam links. The one I kept seeing last week was they would create a board and keep pinning something about working from home or being your own employer. For some reason I get emails when ever someone I follow creates a board and I kept seeing the same two people creating new boards and only having this one thing pinned to it. That's when I figured out they had been hacked and started keeping a closer eye on my account.

I changed my password via the email link. Then I went back in through Pinterest and changed it again just to be safe

I had the job pin happen recently on my Pinterest. I didnt get an email about it, though. I saw it right after it was added, so I deleted it and changed my password. I've seen it on severals friends accounts, too.
