It's been ages since I needed to add a sparkle to a photo
I use my brush tool and add the sparkle, but once I click
on the arrow tool at the top left of the screen, the sparkles
I have put on the photo turn into little marching silver ants kwim,
how the heck do I keep from doing that, I just want the sparkles on my photo and I must have something not selected, or selected wrong as to why they are doing this. I sure could use a little help before I start to cry at this point..

Are you talking they turn into "marching ants" like the lines around your signature blinkies?

Are the stars filled in?

If they're filled in, and you want to keep it as is, try to search for Edit > Deselect

If all it does is select the outline, but not fill it in, just use the paint bucket and fill in the sparkles .... just create a new layer in case you want to adjust it
