Our menu changed a little yesterday because we ended up going to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and at dinner time we weren't all that hungry. So here's what our revised menu looks like:

Sun: chicken parm w/spaghetti and salad (Texas Roadhouse so we've skipped this meal)
Mon: Enchidillas (enchilada filling but made like quesadillas) with mexican rice
Tues: grilled steak, baked potatoes, broccoli
Wed: grilled chicken, pasta, salad
Thurs: ham steak, jasmine rice, green beans
Fri: YOYO

Aussie Meg - I didn't know kangaroo was a food animal! I hate to sound ignorant, but I'm intrigued... is it game or is it farmed? What meat does it taste like?

I believe that the meat is sourced pretty much all from wild animals, not farmed. I think it's only been legal to use for human consumption for the last 20 years or so (except for Indigenous Australians of course!!). The meat has a stronger flavor than beef and lamb, but quite similar. We are starting to eat it a lot more because we are on a diet and it is really really lean, not much fat at all, and quite high in protein. The only thing is, because it is so lean you have to be really careful not to overcook it or you may as well be eating an old boot LOL! It has to be eaten rare or medium rare. I'm always a bit scared to cook it in case I muck it up. My MIL, who is a fabulous cook, buys a peppered kangaroo fillet from the market and I tell you what, it is the nicest meat you'll ever eat !!! We gave it to the kids and didn't tell them what it was, otherwise they would not have eaten it!

Oh, and it is a common dog food here too.

Thanks for your answers - I'm not at all squeamish about different meats, and generally love game, so I would definitely give kangaroo a try if I ever had the chance!
