Oklahoma plays West Virginia tonight in Morgantown.
We're here in Morgantown with friends to cheer on the Sooners and celebrate my best friend's husband's 50th birthday.
We're having a great time. I had heard the West Virginia fans were a little intense with their burning couches, but so far everyone has been very nice. |

This is the first time in 3 weeks I'm actually going to get to watch the WVU game. I'm hoping they can turn it around this week against Oklahoma, but I'm doubtful.
No fam knows for sure what is going on with the team, but a few guys have left, and there seems to be some disension among to staff (?). Our defensive coordinator has (rightfully) born the brunt of everyone's frustration, but there is something just not right with the team. Even the offense is struggling, and there is no way that should be happening.
Let's Gooooooooo, Mountaineers!!!!!

Sorry Joy, but we will have to part ways today. Go to hell LSU, go to hell! After I am done licking my wounds, I'll be happy to talk to you again. However, it should be an exciting game since Ole Miss has actually had a decent season this year.
We have some other games to keep an eye on as well. Miss. State is holding their own against Arkansas. Hoping Texas Tech does well against Oklahoma State. As for Auburn, maybe since they are playing Ala A&M they'll have a chance. |

Joy, interesting facts! It should definitely be an exciting game this afternoon. With all the changes in the SEC, I sure hope this rivalry doesn't go by the wayside like some others have. I just can't imagine football season without the Ole Miss/LSU game! |

I agree Toni! I remember so many great Ole Miss games
through the years ~ especially the 1972 game.
And the Ole Miss panty raids were legendary. Don't know
if they still do them. |

Ahhh, the memories! I was wondering the other day if they still have them. Of course in this day and age, guys seeing girl's panties isn't as big a deal as it was in the 'olden days'. |

Oklahoma State handled Texas Tech fairly easily. Our defense got some great plays done.
Sad that it was the last game of the season at home. |

Sorry to see Ole Miss lose at the end like that. But it was a good game, we held our own and it wasn't a massacre!
Miss. State pulled off a good win, Auburn won, while Texas Tech lost. So half our teams won today. DH & DD are happy! |

#2 Oregon with less than 2 minutes to play.

Auntkelly, I hope you enjoyed the game and had a great experience in Morgantown.
I definitely enjoyed it, even if the final score wasn't what I wanted.
On the plus side, the Mountaineer offense was BACK! I think we had a couple of "bad attitudes" leave the team over the past two weeks and it showed.
On the negative side, the our secondary still stinks LOL! Granted, the Sooner offense is really good, but seriously, we are just soooooo inconsistent. Hold them for losses on 1st and 2nd down, then give up a 30+ yard completion on 3rd. Over.and.over.and.over.again! That's been the story of the season.
I heard the WVU band made the OK state outline for you. We used to do stuff like that when I was in the band in the early 80s, but they had gotten away from that lately. I hope honoring the visiting teams with a salute from the Pride becomes a renewed tradition.

The 1970 game was pretty memorable too. LSU 61, Ole Miss 17. Bert Jones against Archie Manning.
GEAUX TO HELL OLE MISS, GEAUX TO HELL!!!
And this is what the stadium sounded like as we all left after the game. I remember us giggling about it. My brother's and I were at the game with my dad and stepmother. We were kids. I was 11. My dad said, "Y'all have to yell too". We were given permission to cuss!! LOL We went to the Orange Bowl that year too. We got beat by Nebraska. Heck, didn't Nebraska beat us numerous times in the Orange Bowl? I still have the little tiger that was attached to a corsage my dad bought me to wear to the game. |

Auntkelly, I hope you enjoyed the game and had a great experience in Morgantown.
We had a great time! The West Virginia fans were great. I can't tell you how many W Va fans said "Have a great time!" as they passed us and noticed we were wearing our OU gear.
We got a little lost walking back to our hotel room after the game and were directed to walk down a long wooden staircase right by the stadium and guess who we ran into coming up the stairs? The Mountaineer Man! (Not sure if that is what he is called?) Anyway, he was really nice and posed for pictures with us. He's really cute!
Sorry about the outcome of the game-what a heart stopper! I do know that all the OU fans who travelled to the game are going to go back to Oklahoma and tell everyone what a fun place Morgantown is! |

Was that the one where Archie had a broken arm?

Yes, but we don't usually bring up that tidbit when we talk about the LSU slaughter.........Then, someone wrote and recorded the song Archie Who at LSU. I had the 45 for YEARS. I think I misplaced it in one of my last moves though. I have never found my albums and the 45 was in the box with the albums. I'm surprised when didn't wear out the 45 years ago. We played it over and over and over. LOL

Tuscaloosa is a happier place today than it was this time last week. |
"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with a man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him...or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He did not leave that option open to us. He did not intend to."
