It is calling for snow tonight and we are going to the local Santa Claus parade tomorrow and will FREEZE. I would love to make a cozy dinner for us for when we get home. I am trying to lose weight and all my typical comfort foods are not very friendly. So any suggestions? I need to broaden my horizons

Oh and my Thanksgiving was in October--no leftovers.

I love soup when its cold. I keep it very simple. Chicken breast, chicken broth, garlic, onions, carrots, celery, bay leaf or 2, brown rice... SOOOO good. And really easy. I'm not the best of cooks!

I don't really know what it's called, but I love smoked sausage (kielbasa), cabbage, potato, onions, carrots, soup. Just dump it all the a large pot or crock pot, with some chicken broth or water. I usually also add some parsley, salt, pepper, maybe some oregano, a little rosemary, or some Italian seasoning. YUM!

Potato soup. Make it with fat free half and half to keep the calories down.

It may not appeal to you but I like cabbage soup and a bit of crusty bread. I normally do just a plain beef base instead of tomato like many people do. It is a very simple meal but I love it.
