My niece teared up and wouldn't even tell me the end. She said she would end up crying.

We haven't seen it in awhile but my kids (now 15 and 12) used to really like it. I did too. I sort of had a crush on Spencer! |

I didn't watch it because I totally forgot (I'm sure they'll replay it eventually and I'll make sure to catch it then!) but even my boyfriend, who started out complaining that it should have ended a couple years ago, told me the end was "sad, but good". |

*i* was the one who was welling up!!
DD (almost 9) said she ALMOST did but she made herself "think of something happy" - we were snuggled up together watching it so she could not see the slight beginnings of my waterworks!

We had 3 cryers here - my 15 yr old, me and my hubby ...My DD didn't watch the last season or two as faithfully as the first 5 seasons, but she's probably seen them all on repeats. She also has DVD's of several seasons that are well worn. I love that my DD is sensitive to goodbyes, she is a tender hearted sweet girl. And the show was kinda sad!! |

I was the one tearing up in our house. It was such a cute show and one I never worried about letting DS watch. And I, too, had a bit of crush on Spencer. LOL
DS did ask why it had to be over and why they canceled it. I tried explaining about how the kids were getting older and moving on to other jobs. |

I read this thread earlier and thought it was too bad we missed it. About an hour later, my DD (14) comes down from her room sniffling and tells me she just watched the last episode of iCarly. She told me what happened and it sounded like a good ending to me. |

Carly ends up moving with her Air Force father to Italy, leaving Spencer, Freddie and Sam in Seattle. Thus ending their webshow iCarly.
Sam(Jeanette McCurdy) will have her own spin-off show with Cat(Ariana Grande)from Victorious(which is also ending after 3 seasons)! Gibby is also getting a spin-off show. |

It was funny, even though they have all grown so much, Gibby was the one who seemed to have changed the most. Freddy has grown, but he still looks/sounds like Freddy
It was a cute show. I bought DD one of the sound effect machines for her stocking one year and I think we ended up donating it to Goodwill, but may it will turn up in her room today when we break out the shovel ...

We missed it
My son went thru a phase where he watched it all the time (he is almost 15) and I am pretty sure that is why he picked the name Carly for our chocolate lab. She is 2.5 years old.
Will miss it! |

We didn't get teary because daughter kept talking about the sweepstakes and how much it would mean to her to have a piece of the set (kind of like me with Ugly Betty - I wanted the orange office furniture).
But I did wish that Spencer ended up w a reward for giving up his (SPOILER)chance with the girlfriend. Yep, I had a crush too. He is hilarious.
I also wished we finally met "Socko"
We are Gibby people too. "Give me Giberty and justice for all"
Gibtastic, etc. are a few of things we say around home.
Also, can't say "Happy Birthday" w/o saying it like Guppy I think is his name.
The ending, although perdictable was handled better than most and well done.

Gosh, I didn't even know it was still on. My 13 year old dd used to watch it all the time. I haven't seen it in ages though. I'll have to ask her if she still watches and if she saw the finale. I do see it's on demand, so I may need to check it out. It was a very cute show.

I felt it just because its the passage of time. The shows my kids watched on Disney and Nick have all ended - Hannah Montana, Wizards, iCarly.
I thought it was lame - and no Neville?
A great twist would have been for Neville to pop in for a goodbye - and be sweet - and hot |

I cried, a fair amount
I'm not fond of their hour-long specials, in general. So the first
part was slow and had too much filler for me.
I wish they had done more retro scenes from early episodes--they have
all grown so much!

Thank you! I'm glad I wasn't the only person sitting there thinking "Didn't they say her father was on submarine for most of the show?"
I'm sappy enough that I got a little sad during the goodbye scene with Carly and Spencer.

Thank you - I would have been teary and was expecting to be except for the craptastic episode - just really didn't do it justice and was as if someone who had never written for or watched the shoe was picked to write the last one.
I loved and watched nearly every - missing maybe one or two from this season - seeing every episode at least 3 or four times at minimum - was very sad but expected it to end as the kids got older - was very disappointed in the last one and feel like I want a do-over - maybe we can all as fans imagine an episode that's more fitting - ?! Haha -! Kind of like fan fiction 2 peas style -

I did some searching and found this...
The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex (2013) (TV)
The Russo family and friends are headed to Tuscany, Italy, to meet their long lost relatives... but when Alex tries to prove she's more than a seemingly carefree young Wizard, she inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. When Evil Alex gets roped into a charming young wizard's foreboding plan to take over the world, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a monumental battle between the two versions of herself - all atop the Tower of Pisa. Written by Disney
Alex vs. Alex
So it really looks like another movie. |

I got a little teary myself! I've seen so many episodes, I felt like a little chapter in our family life with kids was ending. It was a cute episode. I was glad for Freddy that he finally got a big kiss from Carly! *The only thing that bugged me was that Spencer magically got well in a couple of hours after being SO sick, ha! |

It is never mentioned but many assume she is dead. I read one time the show's creator was asked where Carly's mom was and he said I don't know.
They are showing the final episode again today.

The pea who posted that the writer of the last show didnt bascially get it right, is correct. I was thinking it over, and there really where so many things that could have been done differently. I think there were a lot of key characters that should have been able to say goodbye to Carly, like Freddy's mom, Tebo, Neville. And how did Spencer go from being so sick to so much better all in the same day?
And the kiss, really? Given that Carly has never been interested in Freddy that way, it didnt ring true to their friendship.
Ok i obviously have too much time on my hands that I can analyze this show!! LOL |
