Yes, first off, I'm a little surprised....not really, but sort of. She is really young....19, but the good news they are waiting till next year.  Not young in our LDS culture. Anyway, her fiance is the most darling, wonderful young man you could ever imagine. He adores her beyond measure.
She is incredibly hard to surprise....next to impossible. I can't describe it. She just KNOWS stuff. lol Anyway, a friend of theirs is taking a video editing class at the university and needed to film a "couple in love" and so she asked them if she could video them for her final project. He quickly asked her if he could make it his proposal since he knew she wasn't expecting it at all. They had talked about getting engaged, but not until next summer.
Here is a link to the video. What a treasure! They will be able to have this forever, and share with their someday children. It's been wonderful to be a little part of it. Towards the end of the video, she was supposed to run towards him and jump up on him, and instead he knelt down and pulled out the ring. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! And I dare for you not to smile! Oh, as she was showing her dad, she said, "Dad....a warning...there's lots of kissing."

My daughter called this morning to tell me she and her boyfriend of three years went ring shopping. She found a ring they both really loved and she's hoping it will come at Christmas. We'll see.

I have never seen a love between two people....young or old, like these two. They are both old souls, and so mature in how they treat one another, their families and even strangers. I'm so blessed to be her mom.

That video is so sweet! I cried watching it.
Did you post pictures from prom last year and your dd was wearing a dress either she or you had made? Or maybe it was something with cowboy boots? I seem to remember something like that.

Sherry, yes I did post the prom picture. I told you she was young! 
To make it seem like he is even more amazing, he actually asked my husband first for permission to marry her. Then, he asked me and each one of her siblings privately. He said his goal in life is to serve her and make her the happiest and most loved person who ever lived. I wonder if she knows how lucky she is? |

It doesn't bother me about her age. I was 19 when I got engaged, and married 3 months before I turned 21. We celebrated our 20th anniversary in September.

That is the sweetest thing I have seen in a long, long time! You can tell they are truly in love. I especially love how he asked everyone in the family and his goal to love and serve her. They may be young, but they seem to be mature and he truly knows what it takes to be married. I wish them the very best!
