I need some inexpensive gift ideas for boys (especially the older ones) ages 9, 7, 4 and 1. Any suggestions? These all need to be under $10, preferrably much under. Thanks! |

Here are some things my DS11 is getting:
A yo-yo
origami paper and/or book
favorite candy bar
bottle of soda (I know it sounds weird but my DS gets root beer in his stocking since we do not allow sodas normally and he can drink it for breakfast, LOL)
chapstick
toothbrush
book light (to clip in car)
magazine
smencils (smelly pencils)
other ideas:
LED flashlight (got some from the $1 store before our last storm and they were great)
favorite gum
special "character" soap (like in an angry bird container or something like that)
head lamp
bullets for Nerf gun
DVD from $5 shelf

My boys (14, 11, 7) are all getting Lego mini figures. they are around $3 and you don't know which ones you get until you open the package. They love them and buy them whenever they get the chance.
When my kids were bath takers I always put fizzy bath bombs in their stockings. Walmart had some that had little dinosaurs inside. They are little, so keep an eye on the kids and don't let them eat them.
If you have a World Market they have a lot of small toys that are a little unusual. |

What about a roll or a few of the decorative duck tape?
My older ones (13 and 9) absolutely love this stuff! There are tutorials on Youtube on how to make different things out of nothing but duck tape. They really have fun with it.
I am giving a big box of different designs and colors of duck tape as a joint gift to them.
My 13yr old step son is also getting some. |

I always get bath sets for mine - they love the shaving soap! And bath crayons for my toddler.
Many of the things I do have already been listed. I usually go to Target, Dollar Tree and Walmart and see what fun stuff I can find (like the Angry Bird slingshots Walmart had). Toothbrushes and candy are also traditional stocking stuffers here on top of the toys. |

Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely have to hit up the $$ spot at Target and the Dollar Tree. Which section were the angry birds sling shots in at Walmart? How much $$? |

We've done lots of the things listed here. Walmart has the coca cola bottles in the round ornament shape. My kids love those (and they take up a lot of space for $0.99)

Besides the Target $ spot, check out the stuff at Old Navy. I found a couple cheap stocking stuffers there. Also, if you want a couple unique items, go out to The Depot on 23. They have a pretty big toy section with bins full of stocking stuffer items. Most were under $10 and a lot of them were much cheaper. |

The Angry Bird slingshots were around $7 or so. They had lots of variety. They were in the toy section, near Nerf, but they actually had a section just for Angry Birds stuff!
Oh, and I second the survival/camping stuff. My older boys LOVE that. Walkie-talkies are always fun, too! |

When mine were 8 and 10, I was sick and tired of them constantly borrowing and never returning my nail clippers, tweezers, etc. So I bought them their own, put their names on, and got a travel soap dish to keep them in, and that went in the stocking one year.
They also liked the small flashlights. And pez dispensers. They collected those for a few years. |

Lots of great suggestions!
My Target dollar spot has headlamps for $3 right now. My son thinks they are so cool and has been asking for one but the type DH has was pretty pricey so I was glad to find this! They also have Angry Birds slap bracelets and dog tags which the middle boys might enjoy.
Great thread - I am totally writing down some of these ideas!
