Good morning all!

Pink So very happy my SS gift got to you in one piece!!!

Have a thought for this week.....if you get the chance, drop a card to Claudia's family. This has got to be a tough week for them. Christmas without Claudia and a year since she passed.

I have three GC to pick up either today or tomorrow.....the snow has stopped but there's a MAJOR storm headed here the day after Christmas...all the way up the coast.

Good Morning all. My yard is white with frost - the closest we will get to a white Christmas as it is suppose to be in the upper 70's today and the rest of the week.

I have 4 boys and 3 dogs right now and all I can say is Calgon (or someone) take me away! They are noisy and have attitudes due to sugar dropping. And it is the quiet one that is angry because we slept in until 8 and they missed the morning meds at 7. As long as they take it they are fine.

Today will be finishing up 2 gifts and then start the wrapping process. Also doing Laundry.

Hi all! Thanks again Christine! You're the best!

We're off to Colorado Springs for a few days. My youngest is there and we'll go snowboarding on the 25th. Well, not me, I'm sitting in a nice warm lodge, sipping peppermint schnapps and reading a book. Family traditions sure do change when the kids grow up! But...I'm excited, it will be a blast! And so much less stress!

Have a great week everyone!

DH and I had supper at my friend Cathy's (Anna's mom) house last night. Her DH is a real estate agent but he went to Chef School prior to that so supper at their house is always a treat. Anna is doing very well. The tumour is still in her nasal cavity but it is "dead." They are now waiting for it to dissolve. Anna is home now for a few weeks and then goes back for one more chemo treatment. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Morning ladies... its been a crazy few days for me. Friday morning DD & I left for a 3 1/2 hour drive to College Station TX for one of her best friends wedding. They have been friends since 1st grade. My DD was a bridesmaid. The rehearsal was Friday, along with decorating the venue then the wedding was Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day and the bride was beautiful as well! I do have to say that my DD was beautiful too! Then we drove back last night & didn't get home until 10:30. Today I have my DH's family coming to the house for Christmas. I cheated and ordered food for lunch! His family is not about the traditional foods anyway (they are some of the pickiest eaters I've ever dealt with... and will tell you if they don't like something!) so we are having Italian... lasagna, chicken alfredo, chicken scampi, salad & bread! I did make the desserts so that counts for something right???

We are having some nice weather today but I think we might get rain on Christmas day... which isn't good considering that we have Christmas at my parents house on Christmas day and there are usually 40-45 people there... it helps so much if its a nice day and the kids can get out and play and we can use the deck to eat and hang out on! I guess that may not happen this year. Everyone else wants a White Christmas... I want nice weather!

Well ladies gotta get at it and get things picked up and get in the shower!

Have a great day!

Lisa/Pink That sounds like a lot of fun to be honest!! schnapps etc!!

Tracey Great news on Anna...here's hoping that tumor dissolves!!!

Kristy Sounds like you had a great time!! Here's to no rain!!

Need some prayers..I love both my SIL's but one (Belinda) can be a bit "sharp". Long story short....she was kind of rude to my other SIL (Michele). So Michele is still pissed---it was over who was hosting Christmas. Anyhow...can you all send prayers this way that the two of them can get along on Christmas?? (Belinda doesn't know Michele is mad....and I ain't saying a word...LOL). THANKS!!

i'm bored! lol

i know there is tons i could be doing... i have a scrapbook I still need to put together for Grace's soccer coach. there is always cleaning to do. i need to create a large to do list for work/school.

but here i sit... i'm watching the sound of music. i caught it 1/2 way through the movie. i am trying to dvr it on another channel, but I don't think I get that one... it's an HD channel and I do have HD tv/satellite so not sure why. anyway, the girls have never seen it so I wanted them to watch.

my aunt when to the cemetery today and took a picture of my mom's headstone. i don't know how long it has been down... at most a couple weeks. i posted a picture on fb. it's causing mixed emotions of course..... i hope she likes it.

BTW... this thread was on page 3. need to prevent that from happening again!

Merry Christmas Rakky-babes!!!!

We finished an 8+hr trek across one territory and two states to Victoria, to stay at our resort. The trip was broken into two stages, thankfully and we enjoyed a day of looking around Beechworth which is famous for its honey that is sold nationally. We also called into a famous winery (and one of my favourites) Brown Brothers. All stocked up on the good stuff for the Christmas Break!
Today was long and arduous due to the second leg and then having to drive into Ballarat to buy Christmas supplies.
Finally tucked up in bed and waiting for Santa to find us.
We will be here till the New Year when we take the trek back. I hate long drives, so I'll be the one moaning, "are we there yet?".

Tomorrow, the 'boys' plan to play golf. I will probably hit the gym and pool and get some exercise in. Seems a funny way to spend Christmas but apart from read and eat, there's not much else to do!
I'll be missing the antics of my grandson, Keegan, who just turned four at the beginning of the month. He's right at that cute stage of understanding Christmas and milking the fun for all it's worth! Maybe we should try and get over to Perth for Christmas next year.

Oh, I hear bells. It might be Santa. Better pretend I'm asleep.
See you tomorrow!

Good morning ladies! Merry Christmas! May you all be blessed with the presence of God in your hearts and the blessing of family & friends by your side this Christmas!

I'm so very thankful for this group! Even more so this last year... you guys have been ears to listen, mouths with wonderful advise and arms when I needed a hug. I am forever grateful for the love and friendship that I find here each time I log on to the RAK thread.

Today I will say a special prayer for our friend Claudia that brought us all together and gave us a nudge to RAK someone... its always in the back of my mind to try and do something nice for someone and there are times that I get dissapointed in myself but because of this group I do believe that I'm a better person.

Love to all on this Christmas Eve!

I love you all and thank you for being a great group of RAK ladies! I am thankful for all of you, even though I don't post as much, I am trying to do better.

And most of all...thank you to Claudia up in heaven! If it wasn't for her, this RAK group would not exist. Claudia...you are missed all the time and we love you and wish you were here with us.

I got a frantic phone call from Annie this morning. Beau took a tumble off the couch and face planted onto the floor. His bottom teeth went through his top lip and there was blood everywhere. Thankfully I'm only about 5 minutes away so I rushed over. Poor Beau was sobbing but the bleeding had stopped. He's got a huge fat lip but is a trooper. I think Annie was more scared than anything. The joys of having boys!

I, too, wish everyone a wonderful Christmas with your families. It's a new celebration for us with the boys not living here anymore. Although Eli is here, we'll have to wait for Zach, Annie and Beau to arrive in the morning. The pace will be a bit slower but looking forward to sharing the day with family.

Poor Beau....the only good thing about mouth injuries is that they heal fast.

Update on the firemen killed this morning....seems it was a trap set by the gunman. He was waiting for them or whoever to show up. He ambushed them and he is also dead. The injured firemen are doing well but have long roads of recovery ahead of them.

Christine - how horrible! Such a tragedy for the families especially at Christmas. I'll keep the families in my prayers. Hope the SIL's don't get very irritated with each other to much. That could lead to an interesting Christmas...and not the good interesting.

Alicia - I hope I didn't pry to much! I don't blame you. If you made her go she would hold it against you and then she wouldn't feel like she had anyone on her "side". She's a very lucky young lady to have you in her life.

Tracey - poor Beau! I would be frantic myself!!! I pray that he heals quickly and isn't in to much pain. A chef cooking for Christmas would be REALLY nice! It's just me here!!

Everyone have a good Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all.

My nephew has the flu and we are trying to deal with the boys and let my nephew get some rest - but patience is running thin. The boys are fighting - all 4 of them and boys will be boys.

Christine - I just heard about the firefighters. I am so sorry for those families. Prayers being said for those recovering.

Off to cook...

Denise...put a movie on and tell those boys to sit and watch!!! LOL

Patti....I think the SILs will be ok...one isn't aware that the other is upset. I felt a real peace last night as I was thinking about it. We have never ever had family drama about anything...ever...so...I prayed a bit and felt real calm...

I just watched the press conference on the firemen....breaks my heart watching their chief of police cry.

Just wanted to pop in and say Merry Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you.

Thank you for being my friends and thank you Christine for keeping the board going.

I am not here all the time but I do consider each of you as part of my internet family and wish you all a very merry holiday and just a most wonderful New Year.

I am so grateful that my eldest just flew in from Boston and that we will all be together this week for Christmas, for my ds2's 18th birthday and New Year's.

The day has been in the middle 70's and the boys wanted to be outside. So we hung out as much as we could with them and then kicked them to the back yard. Getting ready to do a mock hayride (in the back of the truck) to see the Christmas lights and check on Santa's progress. The last I heard he was getting closer to the USA!!!!!

not sure how well this picture will show up, but thought I would try!

I found this at kohl's last week... debated buying it because I don't need any more clothes! I tried it on and sent a picture to my brother and asked if i was too young for it... he said "no, you are married and have 2 kids." but it made me think of my mom of course so I went ahead and bought it.

Love it Alicia! We should have been sisters as much as we both like Cardinals! I guess originally being from St Louis helps.

Hayride was fun and saw lots of nicely decorated houses. Everyone has gone to their respective homes and Santa is getting close - think he will be in the area by 11ish! One can only hope.

Dogs are fed and walked - getting ready to watch a movie and then call it a night!

That's gorgeous, Alicia! Too cute.

Christmas is all done and dusted on my side. A little different being just the three of us. I've had plenty of calls and text messages from my other kids and mum about their gifts, etc., so that's been nice.
Geek and Josh are out playing golf (seeing as we are staying at a golf resort). I'm reading on my computer (kindle) and debating whether I want to go for swim. I might wait till the guys get back and talk Geek into jumping in the spa with me. All very quiet and laid back.

If there is one thing that divides Geek and myself as a couple, it's the differences in our kids. ALL my kids have called me and chatted about Christmas, thanking Geek and myself for the gifts. Not a peep from any of his kids. And this is normal. To just ignore each other on Christmas or any other day. I find it weird and rude. But then, 'my side' has always been noisy, boisterous and chatty. It's who I am and my kids are the same. I've always said, "Taylor's don't talk". And here's another example. sigh. Gotta NOT let it get to me. Other than that gripe - we've had a lovely day!

We've been blessed with a gorgeous day today. Rain was predicted and although it's chilly/cool outside, we have sunshine and fine weather. Canberra wasn't so lucky! We are obviously in the right part of Australia today!

My nephew and the boys left this morning as 2 of the boys and my nephew are sick with fevers and didn't want to be around my parents. My Nephew and DSonIL do not get along. So there was no fireworks - thank goodness.

Everyone had our tradional breakfast, opened gifts and have not parted to respective other families. My grandson is coming down with a 102 fever and not feeling good - signs of the flu that the others have.

Off to sweep and mop up dog hair from the german shepherd. I thought my dogs shed but nothing like this guy.

I am posting this from my new IPAD! My Christmas gift from DH!

We had a wonderful day, but its winding down now. Eli has left to return to his apt, Zachary and Annie are off to her parents and my mom has gone home. Just DH and I and the dirty dishes.

Tomorrow the tree comes down and normality returns.

Took the tree down and start cleaning up from dogs and kiddo's with flu. I wanted to make sure all the linens were washed. Had dinner with my mom, dad and niece - nice quiet relaxing dinner.

My DN surprised us with double lined pregnancy tests - she is about 4 months along. No definite due date as she has to have a sonogram to confirm how far along she is.

Got some scrapping supplies and a new purse for Christmas. I am so excited over the purse as I have been wanting one since I saw my DIL's. The girls (DD and DIL) loved their household binders. Over all Christmas was pleasant but sad knowing this will be the last one with mom home.

Good evening all, and Merry Christmas!!

Dena, since you never come visit us here anymore ( ), i don't know if you will see this message! but yes I am married.. got married in June before we left NC.

I hope you all had a great Christmas! Vicki and I are both kind of upset. i had told the wife of another soldier in John's unit that we were going to the Salvation Army today to help serve. She came down with her 3 girls as well. while we were there, she asked what we were doing for dinner or whatever. i told her i was making some stuff but nothing big, and mentioned some of the things. she said she was having spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. so vicki kinda whispers to me, why don't we invite them over. so i did. she said they would come and seemed generally excited about coming. talked about the time because of picking up grace and stuff... she even said they have been staying up later and later because of the holiday and her husband not being there, etc. so the late dinner was not a problem. we said good bye to the kids and said i'd see them later tonight. vicki and i raced home to cook and clean. i made a rice dish, steamed broccoli, rolls, au gratin potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green been casserole, more cookies so they would be fresh, a big salad, the rotisserie chicken i bought... and had out shrimp cocktail and chips with salsa. sent a message asking what time we should expect them and didn't get an answer. sent another one a little while later, still nothing. so i called and rachael said something along the lines of, "i don't think we are going to make it tonight. the girls want to have a tea party so we are going to do that." SERIOUSLY!?!?!?? and couldn't say anything before 8pm!??!
So we have a TON of leftovers!

On a positive note, I might have mentioned that Vicki had seen a particular homeless man near her school a lot during the fall. A couple times I bought bags of food for him and she would carry them with her until she saw him. She mentioned taking food to him today. As we were leaving the Salvation Army today, they asked if we wanted to take a plate for ourselves. We each took a plate of turkey, corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, and a roll. we drove by the area vicki has seen the man before but didn't see him. So we gave 1 plate to a woman who was standing near by and another plate to 2 men who were further down the highway. They were all very thankful and started eating right away! So hopefully they had a good meal on Christmas too.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends celebrating the birth of Jesus!

Good Morning. It was so nice to wake up to a semi-clean house. Still have to tackle the garage and craft room. Today will probably be the craft room as we are expecting storms today and I don't want to be cramped in the garage - need the driveway to move some stuff around and don't want it to get wet!

No plans for New Years Eve - like to stay home and the neighbors normally wake me up with fireworks, etc.

I have to work tomorrow and then I am off until Monday. I can't wait until Jan 7th when we transfer to being under Tampa. I am praying that I will get to go full time and show the new bosses what I know and can do. I have been learning the stuff for the drivers and DOT regulations.

I am not sure if I mentioned it but there is a house around the corner for sale by owner that has been in probate for the last 4 years. I went and saw it and fell in love. I want to place an offer and the owner is willing to hold the mortgage - I can handle the payments now but wanted the stability of full time. I have been praying about it so if it is meant to be things will go smooth.
