First of all, this is a vent. I am exhausted and hurt all over. I just want to go to bed.
Every frakkin year all the shopping is left to me. Even the year I had two major surgeries - one 3 days before. I expect it. I've been sick since Thanksgiving and busy with work and things got away from me and I had almost nothing wrapped. We've been going non-stop with get togethers with family since early Friday morning.
Today I made three runs for last minute stuff we had to have for his family. Then the rest of the day cooking stuff. Then off to MIL's house at 4:30 and we just got back (she only lives a few miles away). So, he keeps talking about how tired he is and wants to go to bed as soon as we get home. I joke about I have to wrap presents even though it's technically Christmas. He decides to "help". He just got all pissy about a goofy gift I got for DS. Then he keeps ignoring the THREE pairs of scissors on the table and walking across the room to use my sewing scissors. I asked him not to use those and why and he's still doing it! I told him to go away and I would do it and got mad.
That's not all, but I am so freaking tired I need to go bed, but I have a few things left for his stocking. I'm thinking of just not putting anything in it and see how he likes that...I never get anything in mine unless I buy it.
I will be really glad when the holidays are over. |

Aww, that stinks. Go get some sleep and rest your body. You'll be more productive in the morning after some rest. |

I'm sorry. That sucks.
A good night's rest can fix a lot of things---but I hear ya on the scissor thing!
Step away from MY scissors!
May tomorrow be a better day for you.

I'd take my fancy fabric shears right over and chop up his stocking.
But honestly...he doesn't fill your stocking, why fill his? I know it sounds petty, and the joy of giving and all that but why reward bad behavior?
I hope today is better for you! I too do it all for Christmas..if I didn't shop and wrap and bake the kids would have a few drug store presents bought on Christmas eve wrapped in the CVS bags they came in. |

I think this may be a reason to use a padlock on the scissors... You know where you put the lock through the finger holes so they're unusable until you need them for a project? The traveling scissor sharpening man doesn't come around nearly enough this century.

I am so sorry that Christmas isn't a fun time for you. In your place I would seriously back off on the amount of my time I invested in it. Can you do your Christmas shopping early next year? Like in August and September, maybe?
As for someone using my sewing scissors, that would get a very loud "PUT THOSE DOWN". I have a note tied to one of the handles, but maybe I should tie it through both handles to make sure. I mean what guy would bother to read something tied to scissors?

That padlock on the scissors is freaking genius! I am seriously going to have to do that.
Things are better after sleep. I'm just not a big people person and all the togetherness is getting to me as well. |

glad things are going better this morning. I'd be annoyed too. I swear guys piss us off on purpose so they don't have to do anything.
Next year, no stocking for him and lots of gift bags.
Merry christmas! |

Why do stockings? If you fill both his and yours, why is it important to have them?

I would suggest next year that you put him in charge of all gifts for his family. This includes shopping and wrapping. There is no reason it should all fall on you.
