Amongst other things - some grey/black boots, gorgeous silver jewellery, a multi-charging station (may not sound very exciting but it's a gift I'll probably use every day!) & a voucher for a Segway tour! My teeny 10 year old is very jealous as she's too light to be my 'plus one', dh & ds are going to fight me for that spot!
Hope you all got lovely things too xxx |

DH and I were not supposed to buy each other presents as we have a big trip we're going on in Feb. (mickey!) We were only doing stockings. Well, I got him a PS3game, some expensive colonge, lottery tickets, etc. ... was so proud of myself cuz I thought, for once, I went overboard on HIM. (he's always doing it for me, spoiling me rotten...) and then what did I get?
A nook and accesories from him and the boys.
And a bunch of lottery tickets.
AND a bunch of gift cards.
AND a ton of bath and body stuff.
Also got tons of other stuff, money for our trip from the inlaws, a purse and pj pants, etc.
I was totally overwhelmed this morning. Wow. (it's alot for me) |

I got a darling purse shaped ceramic hinged box/ornament and a huge piggy bank from DS; an electric tart warmer with a nice supply of tarts from some friends and tickets to go see PINK in Los Angeles in February from DSO. He's AWESOME!
On top of all that, my birthday is just a week before Christmas and DSO also bought me Chanel #5, White Diamonds perfume and a Coach bag for that. He's made of win |

Good stuff!
I really like everything I received this year...all were very thoughtful.
From my guys-
$$ for an embroidery machine. DH just didn't trust himself to choose the right model even after talking the lady at the fabric store. No worries! We are going to get it tomorrow
A pretty welcome mat that is just like one I got for my mom and DH knew I liked it.
A cordless glue gun and a ginormous bag of glue sticks.
A new crock pot. (Per my request)
A really cute rolling tote bag for my sewing machine.
A gym bag.
Shoe insoles for my plantar fasciitis (kind of funny but thoughtful)
My oldest had a sweet surprise with some help from my mom. They took some of his outgrown blue jeans to a lady who made a really sweet teddy bear from the denim.
We draw names with extended family (on both sides). From my niece, a pretty pair of sterling silver hoop earrings.
From my cousin, some really great locally (to her) made hand cream and a candle in my favorite Yankee scent.
My parents put together a big basket of edible treats and all have special meaning. We travel together (with my parents and siblings) fairly often and there are some things that we always tend to have, like fancy red popcorn, cinnamon pancake mix and good maple syrup, glass bottles of orange and cream soda, kettle chips...stuff like that. Mom also got me a pretty rug to put in front of my fireplace.
On that note- my sister and her husband have reserved a mountain cabin for all of us for a long weekend during Spring Break as their gift. Yay!
I have a great family |

My parents gave me silver, sequined Top Siders! Love them (both the shoes and the parents)! I had them on my Amazon wishlist and they ordered them from Zappos, so it wasn't really a surprise, but I love them.

The best present I received was a cross necklace my husband had made for me. He used the diamonds from a pendent which my mother had made back in the seventies from the diamonds in my grandmother's wedding ring. I inherited the pendent when my mother died, but I never wore it because it was a very seventies design and not my style at all.

my husband bought me some really nice paintbrushes. I will probably have to exchange some of them because I already have those sizes, but they are nice brushes.
Watercolor set
a new ott light for my painting room
A paint box to put supplies in that I'd been admiring
a headset for me to wear at the shop so I don't have to balance the phone on my shoulder (I have neck problems)
My oldest son bought me a candle and a heated blanket for the car. My husband freezes me out, he's hot blooded.
My youngest got me a padded dishes set I'd been wanting for a while to store my husband's father's china set.
It's been a nice christmas.

Dh got me a set of baking sheets, pans etc. VERY nice!
And a bit odd and much nicer than they normally get me, my BIL and SIL got me a Nook! I love it! However right now it's not letting me sign in and buy anything after I was able to earlier. That's bugging me. |

First it was just a great day to be with family and friends. Then I got way too much:
A new Sony mirror less camera
A Michael Kors tote bag, watch and wallet
Some sweaters
Lots of scrapbook stuff.
I am overwhelmed by the camera. There is lots I have to learn. |

From DH:
By request -
living room curtains
Rice cooker
Mini vac
VS flannel pajamas
And a surprise, an IOU for the next Karen kingsbury novel coming out in March. He gave me the latest book for my birthday last week.
From DS- a 12 pack of Pepsi! He gave DD a big bag of ranch flavor Doritos. Purchased with his own money.
My parents gave $$
DH's parents gave all their kids' families a very practical and good gift - a high power, rechargeable flashlight. Great idea with all the potential power outages recently.
My mom and her husband came for breakfast this morning. we had avoided each other for 20 years after a falling out. A year and a half ago we began to mend fences. This was a special visit for both of us and I enjoyed just seeing her wear a contented smile the whole time.
I also received some unexpected treats, cookie trays and such from friends. Even sweeter was the thought behind them.

I feel really spoiled. I received an iPhone 5, a nail care kit, handbag, diary, DVD and books. Most precious to me though, was a gorgeous card from my DDwith the most heartfelt message, I have supported her through some pretty awful things over the last 3 years, but was also able to be with her to celebrate her graduation from Uni this year. Such a special girl and her words mean the world to me. |
