I spent aaaaages trying to think of perfect presents to get SO. His biggest (cost wise) present was an esky, then he got a few other things that I knew he'd appreciate. My favourite, that I was sooo excited about, took me forever to find after I thought of it. It was going to be so good. We have a little inside joke about the item, too, so I was so excited to give it to him.
Christmas morning: He gives me a present first.
It was exactly the same thing
We couldn't believe it.

Nice! We've given each other the same anniversary card before. Heh. Purchased at different times from different stores.

I had an inside joke going with my boyfriend my senior year of high school. We met and got together while working on the homecoming float that year. We were in charge of painting signs. It got a little messy and I ended up with paint all over a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt (had a blue hand print on my tush). So for Christmas I thought I was being all creative when I gave him a small can of blue and a small can of yellow paint. It was even funnier when I opened the same thing from him. I think he opened mine first. |

We have done this before. Kind of freaky but special at the same time.

My sister and I both got my dad an atomic clock one year. It was when they first came out and it was the perfect gift for a man who: A)is always punctual, enjoys telling people exactly what something is (like the time!).
He hung one in the kitchen and one in the living room. |

While I was pregnant, DH posted a 'level up' every week. The narrative each week was funny, but the Facebook responses from our friends and made the level ups even funnier.
I took a huge amount of time copying these posts off Facebook then I created a photobook, illustrating it with all our ultrasound photos. Took me forever and I am very proud of it.
Turns out that DH was thinking about doing the same thing. Except he was going to illustrate them himself. And not add in the comments. I think I like my way better, because I was able to preserve the intent of the original posts. And his drawing is awful.
But great minds do think alike.
