We put up the tree and decorations the day aftter Thanksgiving and I have enjoyed them these past few weeks, but I am ready to be done with it. I am very Type A, and the excess stuff has officially gotten to me. In years past I have taken the tree down on Christmas day; I won't take it down today or tomorrow, but I really want to. My husband knows I am getting twitchy, too. He asked me earlier how much longer I would be able to hold out. For sure it will be all down by Saturday.

I took all our stuff down today!

I like mine down asap when Christmas is done but I usually wait until the day after Christmas.

My DH took 2 of the 4 kids out of town for Christmas with his family today and I stayed home with the 2 sick ones. They were laying around wallowing in self pity so I just went ahead and got the stuff down.

Im so happy its gone! I love it while its up but am ready to get it gone!

No, because I only just put it up on Sunday and I haven't even finished decorating it yet! We stay with my parents at Christmas, so their tree is all up and decorated. I couldn't decide on what I wanted to do with the three this year (it was new last year and I wanted different decorations this year). I plan to finish making decorations and enjoying the tree for a while into the new year.

Normally I wait until New Year's, but it's all coming down tomorrow because we need the space! DH has work off for the next week and wants to create some music, and the tree is right where his synthesizers go.

Yes, since our's is real. We've had it since Thanksgiving weekend and it's getting pretty dry. Our trash day is Friday (normally Thursday) and I want it out by then.

DH usually likes it up past New Year's Day, but it's just too dry and I don't want the work it takes to get it out to be there taunting me.

I'm ready to take all of mine down too. Our tree is so pretty and I hate to put it away, but when Christmas is over for me, it's over. I won't get to take everything down till maybe New Year's day. I'm off tomorrow, but going home for Chrismas dinner with Daddy's side of the family. I work Thursday and Friday and after work on Friday, I'm headed to my SIL's house for a scrapping weekend.

I'd like my dining room back (that's where our big tree is), but we are also a not-until-Epiphany family. Luckily, the 5th/6th falls on a weekend this year, so it shouldn't be too bad getting it all down and put away before the 7th.

I'll leave mine up til the weekend at least, maybe up til the new year.

Side note: I've never heard of epiphany; what is that? I'm guessing a religious day?

I'd rather be in Disney World!

My tree is overly dry and dying so it's coming down tomorrow and sadly I don't think it can be replanted this time.

Me, I am over it all!!! LOL. I usually have EVERYTHING down about 20 minutes after the kids open their last present. This year we had my 15 year old daughters BFF over to open presents and my husband has been really sick all weekend. So today, I was just too tired to take them down. Tomorrow I go back to work and after work he are doing Christmas at my in-laws. So it will probably all stay up until this weekend. But it is already driving me crazy!!! LOL

I always take mine down on Christmas day, however, this year, my DH put his foot down and said we were going to "relax and enjoy" the day. It sure was nice!

No, not yet. I'll probably keep it up til the New Year. I was so busy in the lead up to Christmas that I feel like I didn't get to relax and enjoy all the Christmassy stuff, so now that the rush is over I am happy to sit on the couch and enjoy looking at the tree!!

DSO on the other hand is like you. He would take it down today if I let him.

The Epiphany is the day that the wise men find the Christ Child.

Some families that celebrate Christmas as a Holy day and the the Epiphany as a the gift giving day.

They also celebrate the whole Christmas season from Advent to the Epiphany.

It is also another chance to get all those gifts that were to expensive before Christmas, or got left in the closet.
Sometimes I will wrap socks , jammies, underwear, toothbrushes and other needed sundries and leave them under the tree. These presents are very fancy, because the elves have time to do fancy.

I have only met a few others that do Epiphany gifts.

I'm another in the 'not until Epiphany (Jan 6)' camp. Our tree only goes up mid Dec - I have a son with a Dec 14 birthday, so the tree goes up after that (even though he's 24 and doesn't live with us anymore).

Also, we heaven't done with Christmas yet. My older son and his wife will be arriving here from Australia in about 3 hours, so we will have Christmas Day all over again.

Yes, we are all about the anticipation. Once Christmas is done its done. We'be had our stuff up since Thanksgiving.

I usually take mine down a day or 2 after, never on Christmas though.

I do leave the outdoor lights up until after new years day though.

Our tree is starting to lose needles so its time. It also takes a whole day to get all the totes packed of stuff so Im relieved when its done.

We dont celebrate any religious part of the holiday, and even as a child our decorations came down the day after.

Each year my goal into have it down by Superbowl.

We have a huge tree with tons of sentimental ornaments. Each in original packaging, We usually put it up mid-December, just because we are busy with the kids, work, etc ...

This year my goal is to have it down this weekend. I'm trying really hard to reduce clutter and keep the house clean so it will be needing to go, starting today! We'll see how it goes!

Yes! I love to take it down within a day or two after Christmas. My dh has to work today but I think will be working from home so it might actually happen. I think our 3 year old will be sad about it all. It was his first Christmas he really got and understood.

We normally keep it up until after the New Year. This year I would like it all gone now because we are leaving soon for a long vacation and I do not want to come home at the end of January with it still all over my house.

We also keep our trees up until after the New Year, but I already wish I could take down some decorations. I wont, because our 12 year old loves it all, so I will wait until she is back to school in about two weeks

Mine comes down today. Once Christmas is over, it no longer represents the spirit of Christmas but just starts to look like a chore.

I have six more days of vacation, so I want to get that chore out of the way at the very beginning, so I can enjoy the rest of my vacation, right up to the very last second.

I'm just waiting for the rest of my family to wake, so I don't have to do it alone.

Taking the tree down on CHRISTMAS DAY?
Heck no!!!

Mine will likely come down this weekend. However, I leave greenery and lights up on the mantel through the month of January. I take the Christmas decorations off and put my snowmen up. I lights so it's my little way of keeping them up a bit longer.

Never before January 7th. In our culture we celebrate New Years and that's when kids get presents from Father Frost, and then our Christmas is on the 7th, so it has to stay up until then. Thankfully we have a nice smallish fake tree which doesn't take up too much space and doesn't dry out.

Ours will be down tomorrow or Friday. At this point, it's pointless. Like another said, after Christmas it becomes a chore. I plan to bring the boxes up tomorrow.

I like to enjoy it for a little while, stress free. I'll usually have it all cleaned up by New Year's, but for sure by DS's birthday on the 9th.

I am, but we have one more Christmas to go with my family at my house today. So tomorrow, I will probably take the tree down. My DD's birthday is 12/31, so I like to have it down before her birthday. (The year she was born it was up until mid-January!)

Our stuff is always down by New Year's Eve at the latest. I'm thinking I might take it down on Friday--DH will be at work and it just seems like a good day to do it. I'm hoping he'll get the outside stuff down by the end of the weekend. I might even start it on Friday if I finish the inside stuff up.

Nope. I avoid putting my stuff out too early for just this reason.

The Christmas season in the Church AND in our family doesn't start until Dec. 24; we will take our stuff down after the 12 days of Christmas, on the Epiphany. Technically we could leave it up another week, until the Baptism of the Lord, but by then I will be ready to get my house back in order. I am having a NY Eve party as well, so that's another good reason to leave the decorations up.

Today is the second day of Christmas! We enjoy the twelve days of Christmas that lead up to the Epiphany- feast of the three kings. We each get a gift on New Years day and go to church. We celebrate Christmas on the 6th of Jan with my sister and her husband. So the tree stays up til then. It only goes up before Christmas to get ready. This is my favorite week of the year. Love relaxing with my family and enjoying the decorations. Yay!

We weren't traveling for Thanksgiving this year (sick kid) so we put it up Thanksgiving and the day after. We usually take it down Jan. 2nd. Most people I know take it down between Christmas and New Years. I like to have it up to enjoy before Christmas. After New Years, I am ready to take it down since the holidays are over.

It will probably all come down tomorrow. I can't stand having it around long after Christmas.
