It's a rx drug that promotes wakefulness and is used to treat those who have shift work sleep disorder. Thanks

I have and I didn't like it. It made me jittery and I couldn't concentrate. I quit taking it. It is an expensive drug. I take Ritalin now.

DH took provigil which was used for the same reason. He hated it and only took it a couple of times before he decided he wasn't taking it any more. It made him jittery and he didn't feel good on it.

I have taken both Nuvigil and Provigil and like them both for when I work night shift. I found that the Provigil worked much better at keeping me awake than the Nuvigil did. I never became jittery with either one of them, but they do take about 14-16 hours to wear off so it is important to take them only when you need to be awake for a long time. The Nuvigil seemed to take longer to make me feel alert and also took longer to wear off.

I have been on Nuvigil for 3 years. I had a severe head injury 3 years ago and since then I suffer from sleepiness similar to narcolepsy. The Nuvigil has helped tremendously! I can function normally without falling asleep. I have never experienced the jitters from it.

Provigil worked better for me than Nuvigil, but it was prohibitively expensive. I took Concerta for several years for narcolepsy, and it worked as well or better than either Provigil or Nuvigil. YMMV.

I took Provgil for narcolepsy. It gave me a headache every single day and I was still sleepy. I decided to stay sleepy rather than be in pain every day. Still, you'll never know until you give it a try. Good luck!
