We will be in Maui the last couple of days of March and the first week of April. There will be 10 of us ranging in age from 14 to 68. I'd love your opinions on a Luau we could book in advance that all of us will enjoy and, if you would, tell me a little about why you would suggest that one. Thank you so much. Most of us went to Maui one time a few years ago but did not go to a Luau so we really do need advice.

We've only been to the Old Lahaina Luau. It was fantastic.

Totally agree with this! We went to this luau on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! Really yummy food too. I would highly recommend it.

The Grand Wailea Resort has a fantastic luau.
It's been up and running for about a year (maybe 2?) and we loved it.
They have the world champion fire twirler and he alone is worth it.

Food is fantastic, great activities too. Plus, big PLUS, it's at the Grand Wailea. Go early so you can hang out on the grounds. It's a beautiful place.

Many say this replaces the one in Lahaina as the #1 luau on Maui. Lahaina is just too too touristy for me. The banyon tree makes my day but that's about it. Well that and the Honolulu Cookie Co

Another vte for Old Lahaina Luau. We attended it with 13 people, my youngest got up with the dancers. It was very fun, and very reasonable.

We enjoyed the Feast a Lele in Lahina. It is the only luau I've been to, so I don't have anything to compare with. It was a sit down dinner with several courses. The show was between course. We had our own table outside overlooking the sunset. It was a very special evening. It was a bit more expensive, but it was more intimate for us.

If you do the Old Lahina Luau, make your reservations early. We did try them, but they were booked two months out.

We (meaning dh) didn't want to make reservations for a luau before we went on our vacation so we couldn't go to the Old Lahania Luau which is the one that gets the best reviews during all my research (internet and book) so we went to the luau at the Westin.

I can't compare it to anything, but it was good.

We also did it at the westin and enjoyed ourselves.

The only thing was that it is expensive. We don't drink or eat meat so we didn't indulge as much as others. You have to really enjoy buffets.

The show was great, but you,can watch the show from the boardwalk.

We also went to a brunch at Old Lahaina, and they had reenactors showing scenes of old island life- poi making, fiber pounding, spear throwing. It was great for the kids, and very interesting for me as well.

We were told that the Old Lahaina Luau was the most authentic luau so that was the one that we chose. It was wonderful. It was me (35 at the time), my mom and my grandma (85). We all loved it!

We did the Feast at Lele and loved it. (Old Lahaina was booked unfortunately). We heard that OL is more romantic, but the only special thing about it is that it's on some sacred ground. Feast at Lele is by the beach so you see the sunset which is gorgeous! And the performers use the ocean in one of their performances too. The food is very ethnic though so be prepared for that.

Another fan of the Old Lahaina Luau we had about 30 people in our group because we all went to Maui for my moms wedding and it was amazing! They even made special drinks for the kids "lava flows"

Sure looks like the concensus is the Old Lahaina. We had someone say the teens might like the one at the Hyatt better - what do the Peas say?
Thanks
