Well, it's pretty squeezy, and not posh, but I'm not getting why it is inherently "bad". The clown is probably there because they have a child. Or just like clowns.

Snort. They look maniacal.

That poster should have come down when the house was listed -- it's distracting, along with all the stickers on the cabinet. And it NEVER should have made its way into the listing photos.

Yikes!

I swear half the real estate agents posting house photos here locally have never heard of the term "crop". The stuff they leave showing in the photos makes me shake my head.

Hahahaha.......

It's almost like they didn't want to sell the place.

I'm surprised the selling agent didn't tell the owners to take that down before photos were taken. Along with the sticker sneeze on the cabinet itself.

LOL...instantly John Wayne Gacy comes to mind. And that's not an association you want potential buyers to make! Also those red hearts should have come down.

ETA: upon further inspection, look at the stains on that dining room carpet and the two different candles in the kitchen...I bet that place reeks!

I want that conversation pit! I haven't been warm for a month now. We're all excited today because the weather reports are promising we'll get over 20 degrees today. Of course, they promised that yesterday and we didn't even break into the double digits. That conversation pit would be heavenly. Kitchen, minus clowns, isn't bad. plenty of work surface and a big pantry. Neutral colors that would be easy to work with.

I have seen some pretty horrible pictures in my house search (the past 2 months). Here's a closet with a pile of laundry in it, here's a door with half the paint missing (I still haven't figured out why they took a picture of the door and not the room on the other side...), a yard with the dog still in it etc but that clown poster is totally creepy!

And shame on the photographer for not taking it down for the photo

It's the agent's responsibility to make sure the house is properly staged for the photography; if they are using an outside photographer he/she should not touch any of the homeowner's belongings other than minor stuff like moving a lamp off camera, or removing an ugly soap dispenser.

Too many realtors do absolutely no staging at all. Which is why there is so much fodder for the "bad MLS photo" web sites.

I really wish the old-timey Peas could find us the house that was posted that was in Florida, was all red and gold and a seriously above and beyond garish nightmare of a house. It was my fave of all time!!

I do think the house is kind of cool. We would probably go look at it if it didn't have an offer pending.

Miz I--laughed out loud.

What do you do in the conversation pit besides warm yourself and talk to the wood stove thing?

When I went to edit my signature, the "Edit Signature" title was spelled wrong. So that was distracting and I forgot what I wanted my new signature to be.

Yeah, I think the house has a lot of potential, Helena. I can see why you would want to look at it.

But, my goodness, how could anyone with sense leave the clown poster up? Way too many creepy things come to mind, which would give me a bad vibe about the house.

That conversation pit is something. Never seen anything like it!

I really, really hate clowns. I'm sure the house is nice, but I keep thinking of that clown doll thingy from the movie Poltergeist and think this house is possessed by evil spirits. No way would I live there.

Clowns creep me out! It looks like someone tried to take down the poster since it is torn in the upper left corner. Maybe there is some damage to the cabinet that the poster is covering up.

So, you move, take all your furniture, but you leave the clown poster and the little red heart things (hooks?) on the wall? Why?

After looking at the rest of the house, I realized I desperately want a conversation pit.

How is removing a scary clown photo ANY different than "removing an ugly soap dispenser"?? I think they are pretty much the same thing. If it's universally ugly, GET RID OF IT. Agent, photographer, scarred neighbor, anyone!

Miz I- that was hysterical!

I don't like clowns.
