Hi there, I was wondering if anyone had the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim? I have never had an android device before and was wondering if its a good phone. Also was thinking of switching to the Straight Talk plan. Any reviews on that too please? Thank you!

I don't have that phone-I have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus-but I do use straight talk. I've had no problems but I don't use a lot of data. I've read that if you use what they think is too much, they will, at the very least, throttle your data speed and at worst, close your account. Also, they say they don't allow streaming of music or video in their TOS. |

I have the phone. I really like it. I've had it about 3 months after recently switching to ST. It seems quick and hasn't given me any issues.
What Gale says is true from what I hear. Only streaming on wifi or you may get your service cut off. 3G is okay for surfing, Facebook etc. That goes for all their phones, not just this particular model.
I had Virgin Mobile before and could hardly ever stream anyways because the service sucked for that aspect in my area so I'm used to not streaming on my phone. Doesn't really bother me. |

Thank you both very much, when you mean streaming do you mean like netflix? I have never had internet on my cell phone before so this is new to me. I was wondering too if playing games, pulls your minutes as well? Thanks again!

Cynthia, yes streaming is like YouTube, Pandora, Netflix. Streaming does not pull from your minutes, it's just against terms of service unless you're on wifi. I believe downloaded apps do not count as streaming as long as you download the game while on wifi. Online games would definitely count as streaming.
Hope that helps! |
