The adoptive parents are still trying to appeal the decision to give the child back to him. I really hope Utah pulls its head out and denies them, then changes the laws so this doesn't happen again. There are still a few other dads fighting the state trying to get their children back.

Yay!

And get your shit together, Utah. It makes you look like crazy people trying to steal babies because you know better than their biological parents.

The story was on Good Morning America today. I had not heard of it prior to that. It said the family is seeking visitation and Sgt Achane is most likely going to comply because they took such good care of his child.

Screw that! I would probably allow supervised visits in the father's location as the therapist deems fit, but those people would never have my child alone again and the family would be phased out quickly.

The child was just ripped away from the only family it ever knew and will likely never recover. They will say she will forget and learn to love the new family but deep inside she won't and she's probably wondering where they are at and why they wont come and get her. It's sad for everyone but the father. He should have just let her live the good life she had.

about_to_pea.....that child wouldn't have those issues if the family that illegally adopted her gave her back as soon as the dad found out so shame on them.

The adoption was ILLEGAL. It's not as if the "adoptive" family only found out about this a couple of weeks ago. They knew, very, very soon after taking custody of the child, that the birth father was never properly informed of the adoption.

That's not only illegal, it's morally reprehensible. They don't have any RIGHT to that child whatsoever. If he allows visitation, it's only because he's trying to do what's right by the child. The "adoptive" family's rights should have no bearing on this whatsoever, because THEY HAVE NONE.

Will she have adjustment issues? Yes, probably. But toddlers who move residences, who start at a new preschool, whose parents change jobs/start working/stop working, have "issues" in adjustment too. Should those things not be allowed?

When it comes to children, "possession is 9/10 of the law" is NOT the standard. Nor, thank God, should it ever be.

I feel sad for the child, very sad. But the only ones to blame for this tragedy are the "adoptive" family and the adoption agency.

**Note: I am an adoptive parent. Until and unless the highest standards for adoption are followed ALWAYS, we will all suffer.**

Don't forget the birthmother. This all started with her. I hope that Sgt. Achane sues her and the adoption agency to recoup the costs of this nightmare. And possibly the adoptive couple, who, once learning he did not terminate his parental rights, should have given Teleah back immediately.

This is the most asinine thing I've ever heard.

If someone kidnapped your baby and kept her for two years, you'd just say, "OK, well, she's better off with the kidnappers so I'm going to leave her there?" Yeah, I didn't think so. That's basically what happened here.

In my opinion, that is one of the craziest things that I have ever read on this board. Yes, I have been there and done that. I was a little over a year old when I went to live with another family.....who loved me beyond imagination. Thank heavens I became part of their family. My life would have been a disaster had I not.

At this age, I doubr she will wonder where they are for very long. As far as visitation, I would hope that the father would keep that sweet little one away from the people who essentially stole her from him.

NO KIDDING!! I hope someone goes after the mother and agency. This was all sorts of WRONG that kid was STILL HIS!! Drives me freakin bananas. I'm glad he got her back!! The kid will probably be okay she might be a little confused at first. I still remembered my birth dad he's very much a piece of me and I didn't meet him till lots later in life.

Essentially you are saying that the people who borderline kidnapped his child by manipulating the legal system should be able to raise her? If nothing else they show a total complete lack of morals and have no business being able to raise a child.

I'm so glad this baby is back with her daddy. I'm sure she will adjust well and have a great life.

What nonsense!

First of all she's 2, she'll have no conscious memory of any of this, and second, she has not been traumatized. She has been living with a family who have loved her, and she's going to a father who will love her. It's not like she has been abused by anyone (except the system!)

If anyone will be traumatized, have issues with, and need therapy for going through this ordeal, it will be the other children of the family in Utah. They have bonded with this baby, thought of her as their sister, and because their selfish parents chose to fight this illegal adoption, they are losing a sister. I'm stunned at the self centered attitude of the Utah couple. I hope they're never allowed to adopt another child, and they should concentrate on healing the children they already have.

Wow. That is just beyond crazy! And disgusting! The damned baby stealers should be in JAIL for keeping her from her father. If ANYONE is to blame, it is THEM!

I pray for this child, and worry about the psychological impact all of this will have on her. I'm glad that the father plans to keep the adoptive family involved - just taking her away would so much more damage than gradual changes.

Are you freaking kidding me? It would be like you giving birth and someone coming and claiming your child. You being told sorry, she is ours now, suck it up honey.

He deserves to have his child and the child deserves to be with her biological real father, not people who knew what they were doing was wrong and could have horrible consequences. Those people should feel horrible for the trauma and grief they have caused everyone.
