I know I am outnumbered in my circle of friends and family, and judging by the lines at the smoothie places. I saw Dr Oz today talking about the "Clean" diet and the great variety of smoothies for breakfast. And it made me retch just thinking about it. So I was talking to my girlfriend about it and she thinks I'm nuts. She loves cleanse diets and lives on smoothies. But seriously, when my DH or the kids pull out the blender I have to leave the room (gag!)
I'd much rather have a cup of berries and a little yogurt....and I like spinach plain. Blend it together?!?!

They aren't my favorite thing, but I willingly make them for my kids who love them. If they filled me up in the morning I might drink them more, but I'm hungry after I drink them so they're not worth the calories to me.

Not a fan. I got a coupon in the mail for a free smoothie at Jamba Juice when they opened by my house.
I nearly gagged on the thing.

I am the same way. I like almost all the ingredients fresh and separate. I don't like them blended. I don't even care for milkshakes...ice cream is great, but please don't blend my food together.

Me, and everyone thinks I am nuts also, but I just can not drink them.

I make them periodically for my family.
the thought of drinking one myself makes me retch.
Since so many diets and healthy recommendations include smoothies, and I never met anyone who didn't like them, I just figured I was uniquely weird.

Me! I don't like drinking anything that's thick. I don't care much for milkshakes either.

I like the smoothies I make, but I rarely like them from a store or restaurant.
Also, no dairy products in my smoothies. Blech.
|Posted: 1/28/2013 8:52:25 PM|The thought of ANY type of liquid that is not a natural liquid makes me gag. My sister and I call them the "cha cha" as is challah because of all the mucous they produce. Even thinking about those types of drinks makes me sick! Watching another person drink them makes me sick! I'm getting sick thinking about getting sick

Thank you! I was beginning to think that I was a freak.
It seems that every diet, nutritionalist, trainer I consult with is a smoothie junkie who thinks you should just drink all your food. (Ok, I am exaggerating a bit but really every meal plan I have ever been given has smoothies or shakes twice a day)
I can't stand the texture. I don't like milkshakes either.

I don't like most of them because of the yogurt. I hate the stuff. I actually like the fruit and veggie blends though. Also count me as another who doesn't really like milkshakes, not a huge ice cream fan.

Me usually. If its just fruit and some juice then I might drink it depending on what exactly is in there. But once yogurt and vegetables start getting tossed in I'm out. I'm leery of yogurt anyways (don't like the consistency and the squishy fruit in there or the taste of plain yogurt), and veggies w/ fruit just doesn't appeal to me.

I had a Jamba Juice smoothie and hated it. I make my own smoothies at home all the time. If you make them right, they can be delicious, but it depends on how it's made. Also, you can control the thickness. I don't like them too thick or chunky.
