On Fox? It has Kevin Bacon in it and, omg, it has sucked me in from the very beginning. I don't know how something so scary, or so gory, can be on network tv - but I LOVE it! Am I the only one? Or are other peas watching it, and loving it, too? |

I thought it was better this week. Last week was too for me! But the gore was toned down although it was still pretty intense!
I will keep watching.
Kevin Bacon is amazing. Wow. Lots of great acting!

I wouldn't say I loved it...but I an intrigued enough by the first episode into watching the second one.
It's an interesting concept for a show, but if they go down the 'criminal genius' road then I'll probably stop watching.
If he is in jail, then I am not going to be able to buy into him directing this huge following into doing his will from in there...it depends how they handle it. I hate it when they write a criminal character that is an expert at 100 different things and is always one step ahead of the police, most criminal get away with stuff out of sheer dumb luck and not because they have super human intelligence.
I buy into the Dexter storyline because there is enough logic in there (mostly) the make it believable, he does have inside information, he does have access to files, he could change information or evidence etc.
It has the potential to be good, but also risks becoming too unbelievable.

I wasn't sold after last week, but pilots have so much ground to cover, I feel it's rare they are truly good. I thought there was enough potential to warrant watching again. Plus I love Kevin Bacon I definitely am liking this week better and plan to stick with the show. I don't remember the last time I covered my eyes so much during a network show!

I don't think I'll be watching again. I'm not opposed to gritty TV shows, but I've had my fill of bloody TV shows.
ETA: I've only seen the first episode. I still don't think I want to see the next one.

me too, I literally had my hands over my eyes and was peeking through the cracks so that I didn't see a horrible bit all at once!
I haven't watched episode 2 yet, but it doesn't sound like it is quite as gory as the first one.

The second episode was nowhere near as gory as the first, but was still suspenseful. I even jumped during one scene in particular. The storyline may not be believable but, for me, I enjoy it because it has that scary movie feel to it. |

It looks awesome.

I watched the Pilot, and it was really quite good. It would have been excellent as a 2 hour movie, but I'm not getting caught up in a continuing network of followers. Just not going to happen.
I would say Criminal Minds is better, but after they killed off Maeve (Beth Riesgraf). No longer watch Criminal Minds over that. |

I'm glad they replaced the female "boss" from the pilot. This new one is supposed to be an expert on cults. She had better chemistry with Kevin Bacon. I've liked that actress since she played crazy on As the World Turns. Hope the kid is recovered safely.
Yeah that Poe guy does scare me.

PEArfect, I think they may be re-airing yesterday's episode this coming Friday, at least that's what they did last week. For those who were put off by the gore, I say give it another chance. The second episode did have its moments, but it was overall much more toned down. To those as hooked as I am, so glad I'm not the only one. |

What did the new FBI "cult expert" agent give Joe in his cell
Are you asking if she gave him anything other than the book he asked for?
Probably. I guess we'll find that out when/if she is revealed to be another follower. For now I'm assuming they want us to suspect everyone.

That look she had on her face was suspect to me too. Me? I would've been terrified.
And I jumped at that one scene too. The cat thought I'd lost my mind.
I'm thinking this could be a one season show. How could you draw it out for multiple seasons? The cult would have to be far more widespread than what we've seen thus far. Of course, that possible, but how do you maintain a tight, tension filled, fast paced and believable storyline? |

I think she is a follower. My husband thinks she's undercover as a follower to get info to help the case.
And I am also kinda hoping this is a 1 season show, because I cannot imagine how they are going to drag this out for 3+ years. |

I'm a fan so far. I haven't been surprised by any of the followers yet. But I am surprised in general that he has followers. He is not coming off as charismatic to me, just creepy. I would run and run far if I had met him while he was a professor/author. I'm not seeing the draw at all.
I was glad there was less gore in episode 2. I had heard it was intense, but episode 1 was still way more gore than I expected for a network show.
I really hope they have a complete story line planned, and that they have an end date in mind. This is a show that should not go on indefinitely. It needs to be more like a 3 year mini-series.
Also, the music is cool.

I really hope the FBI agent is not a follower - seems like an obvious cop out to me. I'm HOPING that she is just trying to gain favor with him to help with the case.
I'm totally hooked on the show, so glad that they're doing it 14 weeks in a row - not sure if I could take it if they were taking a week off here and there.
Replay of Monday's show is on Friday at 8pm CST. |

I have "enjoyed" the show so far.
I can see it going beyond this story line if there is a good team of story writers for the show. I am amazed at times when the writers are able to take a great one season concept and keep it going. The best current example imo is Homeland. I could not see it past the finale last season....and yet it just works.
