I have Windstream and recently got a new laptop with WiFi. I don't want to spend the outrageous price they have for the modem/wireless router. A friend recently got the one they had and I've been over to her house twice recently to get it working again so I don't want to spend a lot of money for something that I'm not impressed with.
I found a good deal for a NETGEAR N150 Wireless ADSL2 plus Modem Router and wondered if it was worth getting. It has fantastic reviews and a few terrible reviews.
My modem still works and I can get a wireless router cheap to add to it so that we can use the laptop at the same time. But thought for a little more, maybe I should get this. I'd appreciate ANY input! |

I'd start by asking Windstream what models they support. They're really picky.

Well, they want me to buy it from them and everyone I get on the phone tells me something different about what they do have. I'll probably just get a wireless router to attach to the modem I have now. |

Update: Since I was a little worried about compatibility, I decided to just get the Belkin N300 WiFi N Router and hook it up to my modem for 1/3 of what Windstream wanted me to pay for their modem/router combo.
VERY easy to install and so far, works great! |
