FROM SCRAPPINSPIDEY
One last thing for the peas: I had posted a few months ago about getting a memorial tattoo for my husband and how excited I was. I finally got it finished. It was done over two sessions of 4 hours each. I am so happy with it. The placement is not quite where I wanted but I love it now. When I look over my shoulder, I see his tentacles and they are in the shape of a heart. It was accidental but the artist and I are thrilled with it.
The story is this: my husband loved me getting ink. I know there are those out there who have opposing opinions and that is fine. For us it was something we liked. Whenever the words "Ive been thinking of a tattoo" came out, he immediately jumped on the financial aspect and his own personal campaign (perverted too) to have me get his design. This campaign would go well up until the point of the ink meeting the skin. I was never going to give in to his vision but it was fun to watch him try. He wanted me to get an octopus that started in the middle of my back and then wrapped around my ribs and my "girls" Yeah-so not my thing lol.
Choosing a tattoo for him was very hard. I had a plan initially but it didn't feel right. Then in the middle of the night the octopus came back. My artist agreed with me that the original version was not something that was going to happen. He would have done it if I insisted lol but would have tried hard to talk me out of it. Together we came up with this. It is perfect. He has a look reminds me of my husband. He is a beautiful octopus. The best part is that it doesn't scream memorial tattoo either.
Im so excited about it and it is by far my favorite, even surpassing the jellyfish my sister designed (sorry Clee!) I promised to share it and since my sister is willing to be my voice today I wanted to show you the final version.

Cool! I can see the heart. I'm not a tattoo person at all but that is a very sweet memorial. |

It is beautiful....
And having had one myself, I can't imagine how his original idea would have hurt around "the girls"!!! LOL |

Miss your posts - great to see you find ways to make progress through the grieving process. Praying you continue to keep on keeping on.
Not an ink person, but a memorial for my hubs I could see doing. He is my heart.
Sweet way to be always reminded of him every day.

I think it's awesome and it's special to you and your husband! And I chuckled at him being "perveted!"
I have a few tattoos I'd like to get...a tribal guitar (for my son) or a tribal lion head in profile (I'm a Leo). But, Sunday I had to bury my dog. I want to get a small heart with wings and his name, Hercules, underneath. The very definition of the phrase "Good Dog." (Hercules isn't the dog in my avatar, just fyi. That's Rosie, my pittie) |

I really dislike tatoos, but I think it is so cool that you found a creative way to honor him that you KNOW would have made him so happy. That is wonderful! |

Hey, how cool is that heart!! It looks like it was deliberately placed there rather than accidently.
Now I just have to say: I kinda wish you'd got the one with the tentacles around your girls - how funny!!

You know, "ink" is not my thing. Just don't have a taste for it.
But, it's obvious it has made you ScrappinSpidey very happy. That's all that matters. I'm thrilled for you, especially the happy accident with the tentacles forming a heart. The fact that just seeing a peek of it over your shoulder puts a smile on your face? Pricless. |
