I have read The Memory Keeper's Daughter and The Time Traveler's Wife. It has been several years, but both held my attention (I didn't put them aside and pick up again later).
I just watched a documentary on Netflix about a couple who both had Down's Syndrome and it reminded me of The Memory Keeper's Daughter (both had parents who abandoned them). I just don't understand people that abandon their children because they aren't perfect.
I liked the idea of The Time Traveler's Wife, especially the ending, when they get that extra chance. I know someone in real life who did the same thing the husband did (in regards to birth control).
Have you seen the movies that were made based on each book? |

The only one I've read was The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was in high school and I don;t remember much about it. I don't think I loved it, but I liked it. | |

I've read the Memory Keeper's Daughter - meh, didn't love it, didn't hate it.
Read The Time Traveler's Wife --twice -- loved it so, so much. Many in my book group didn't like it at all, though. They couldn't get past the science fiction aspect of it. |

I've read TMKD and TTTW. I liked both and thought they were good reads. TMKD movie was so so. I wouldn't watch it again. |

I've read The Memory Keeper's Daughter and The Time Travler's Wife.
I did not like The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I was so angry at what the husband did and continued to do that I couldn't enjoy the book itself. Yes, I need a life
I enjoyed The Time Traveler's Wife. |

I'm an avid reader and absolutely loved the "Time Traveler's Wife". I actually cried while reading it! The movie was so-so, but the book was incredible.
I've seen "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" movie but haven't read the book. After reading this thread I'll take the time to read the book-that movie was just so-so too.
I haven't read "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" yet, but have it on my shelves.

I've only read Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was given to me shortly after the birth of my daughter who has Down syndrome. I don't remember too much about it, but I thought it was good at the time. It struck a deep chord with me. |

I also liked The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter. It's a beautifully written book. |
