China Doll, I was just reading a thread where you were asking about childbirth and what to expect. At that time you were 38 weeks (beginning of January). I see that your little boy is now 3 weeks old so you must have gone early. How did it go? How are you and the baby doing? |

Hi! My boy decided to come early (Jan 7th). Labor was pretty long. I went in at 9:30 Sun morning and he did not come until 3:06 am. My water broke with trickles... but nothing happened. So they try to give me pintocin in my IV to induce me and around 6, I felt no contractions. The midwife popped the bag and put in an internal contraction monitors. That's when the pain came. Try to sit out but about couple of hours later, I wanted the epidural. It took the anesthesiologist about 3 tries to get it in, he had trouble time sticking it in. Around 1:30 I thought I felt something coming and said I was good to go. So started the lovely pushing around 2 and he finally came. I did not get to eat anything all day. So I was hungry, tired, and exhausted. I did not have any strength to push. He was 19 in, 7lb 5oz.
He is now 22 in and 9lb 4oz. He has his daddy's genes
He is doing great. Loves to fuss and has personality. He smiles a lot in between sleep. Yes, I am sleepy... but I am up and running. |

Thanks for the update! Your experience sounds very much like the birth of my first baby. Especially the part about the epidural. And after the doctor finally got the IV in my spine, the nurse broke the tube of liquid (not sure what else to call it) in my face. It was ridiculous. I didn't post anything to your original question about my experience(s) -- I have 2 daughters -- because I didn't want to give you anxiety, lol.
Glad you are both doing well. Would love to see pictures of your son if you care to share. |
