I just bought an old antique cabinet off Craig's list. It is marked Hartman Furniture & Carpet, which I have learned from the internet was a company that sold many manufactured furniture, a obviously carpet.

The furniture tag also had the marking 4/30/J. I think the J stands for the year, but cannot find anywhere on the interest stating that, so I could be wrong. I saw someone on Storage Wars that brought an antique to an expert and that expert said that the letter stood for a particular year.

Does anyone have a clue?? The furniture is worthless really (I only paid $45 for it, but it will look awesome painted), but I'm just curious.

DH and I were antique dealers for many years, but I have never heard of using a letter to denote a year.

Thanks - any clue what the 4/30/J stands for???

It does say: Date - 4/30/J. Maybe it is Jan. or June 4th, 1930?
