Hey curly girls.

I've totally subscribed to the Curly Girl method of dealing with my hair. That said, every now and again I would like to go straight. That's what I love about curly hair... the versatility. What products do you all recommend that are still good for curly hair in the long run?

Thanks!

Never heard of it, but I'm interested. I rarely go curly (maybe 5 days out of a year?), since it's so much easier to keep it straight or loosely curled (blown out and then loose curls put back in). I could keep it that way for 3-4 days. If I do mine curly, I have to do it every day--don't you?

Do you mean products for straightening it? I use Chi Silk Infusion, a tiny amount, to blow dry with a round metal vented brush. I then use Straight Sexy Hair Smooth & Perfect Flat Iron spray with my Chi iron to get it nice and straight and shiny. This is the best thing I've ever used. I use L'Oreal Elnette hairspray to help keep it in place, seriously the best hairspray in the universe though it doesn't smell too good.

This stuff, plus a big, ceramic round brush, CHI blow dryer, and a really good flat iron (I have an FHI).

I've also been using keratin shampoo and conditioner lately (I know shampoo isn't strictly CG, but this has no sulfates). And argan oil. That helps too.

What is the Curly Girl method? I started letting my curls do their thing over 20 years ago, and I haven't touched a blow dryer since then.

"Moroccanoil" (the real one not the fakes)
I use the oil treatment on wet hair before straightening, takes out the frizz.
Also great for curly hair if you are leaving it curly.
It is an oil, but it is never greasy on my hair...I only use two pumps from the pump bottle.

Hey all!

Just want to come back and say thanks!!! Things got away from me and I haven't been able to visit 2peas. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my hair. I've been letting it do it's thing for awhile, but since I had a baby a year ago I have all that new growth that is sticking straight out. I was hoping to see if straightening it might help them. I will try out all of your suggestions and would love to hear more!!! Thanks again!

Oh! To those of you who wondered what the Curly Girl Method is... It's really kind of life changing if you read it.
