...was very apparent this morning. As I was finishing up getting ready for work, my husband called. Just as his first class was about to start, he caught his pocket on his chair and his pants tore.
I was there in five minutes with a new pair, and still pulled into my work just now...ten minutes before I planned to be here!
I can't imagine how he'd have handled teaching a class with his boxers hanging out! And 8th graders?
He said he owes me big! |

I agree
When I first started teaching I lived 35 miles away from my school and after being yakked on by a kid, I started keeping a change of clothes and shoes in my classroom for just such emergencies. |

On a nice weather day, I can walk. Less than 3 km. | |

If I don't feel like going outside at all, I don't! (my work kitchen is in my basement)
If I don't want to dress nicely, I don't! I can wear my yoga pants and an old t-shirt downstairs, as long as I'm wearing my hairnet and closed toe shoes, I'm good to go. |

I work at home in my pjs, at night. It is perfect. Just dial in to the system and start taking calls. |

My dad is always early for everything. Dh and I have a joke based on something my dad did once -
"Always leave early enough for work, that you have time to change a flat tire and still be on time."
lol!
Sounds like you guys have an amendment to that rule, lol!

He just called during his lunch to thank me again!
Of course, I can't complain...on his days off that I'm working he brings me lunch! |

We spent the first 10 years of our marriage with one car partly because my husband worked so close to where we lived. He would walk to work even in the winter just so I could have the car just in case I needed to go somewhere during the day. |

Cool that you could help him out. I had a similar thing happen to me on the first day working in a computer lab and teaching computer classes at the University. Luckily I had a spare pair of jeans in the car - not the clothes I wanted to wear but I was thankful to have them. |

Your husband owes you big time for not making him teach eighth graders with a hole in his pants.
I teach at a community college and my students are pretty nice, but one day I noticed that they were all giggling every time I moved (I walk around a lot while I'm lecturing). I was afraid of the answer, but finally I stopped and said "okay, what's so funny?" They all started laughing and one of the girls told me that there was a big tag hanging on my sweater under my arm. (It was a new sweater and I wore it for the first time that day) Apparently the tag started waving every time I pointed at my power point or walked around the room.
Of course I was embarrassed, but I had to laugh at myself. I was just glad they weren't laughing because my fly was unzipped! |
